We spent over $100 on lunch this afternoon, and honestly no part of the meal was worth its value. The BLAT had one singular slice of rasher bacon for the whole sandwich. I understand being a bit light on certain ingredients, but one slice for a literal bacon sandwich is actually insane. The halloumi and avocado roll had no avocado whatsoever. The chips were over cooked and not even seasoned, also came late almost ten minutes after everything else. The caesar salad was disgustingly drenched in dressing, so much so, that it was left unfinished and uneaten. The chicken burger was burnt and the bread was almost definitely stale. The service was lacking, with the staff acting uninterested and honestly disgruntled that we were even ordering here. This was easily one of the worst dining experience I’ve had, I understand there are off days for any restaurant but this was really, very disappointing.

On our visit to Jamaica Blue, everyone seemed to be feeling exactly that - blue. Nobody was happy, there were no smiles, no laughter and no outward signs of general happiness. The lady at the table adjacent to us sighed heavily half a dozen times in as many minutes. I hope she's okay.
I, and probably many others, observe that in today's society, very few of us are satisfied with 'average'. An unfortunate consequence of brilliance and excellence being so ubiquitous in our digital age.
My club sandwich was entirely 'average'. Not bad, not great, slap bang in the middle. Average. With the exception of warm lettuce (for which I am at fault for getting a toasted club sandwich) everything was totally fine. Not brilliant nor excellent by any measure, but perfectly mediocre, and you know what? That's okay.
The avo smash had a conspicuously small serving of avo but I suppose an 'egg smash' doesn't sound as nice. It, again, was fine and both meals were... Nourishing. I tend to think most people come here for the coffee and not for lunch.
We discussed the effects of housing and inflation on the mental health of a generation. We agreed that the model on a nearby poster was NOT sporting her natural hair colour. We noted the very mixed bag of people that flood through the shopping centre, and it was accompanied by average food, in an average setting for a pair of very average people.

Certainly not the worst place we've eaten at in Toowoomba, in saying that we won't be going back.

I'll start with my big breakfast that I had to pay extra to have bacon added. The menu stipulates that it's served on sour dough bread. The bread came out that small I honestly believed that they had forgot to put the sour dough on the plate. The bacon that cost me an additional $4 tasted gamy to the point at first bite I thought it was off. Mushrooms were cold. The tomato was passable. The best tasting thing on the plate was the pesto.

The only thing that saved it being a 1 star for me anyway was the Strawberry Thickshake. It was amazing.

Now to speak about the gluten free.. not only was the food cold but the gluten free toast could not be cut up, even with a steak knife did it struggle to cut through. Bacon was the same, tasted like bush boar, the poached eggs were boiled poached but I get that, not everyone can poach beautifully. The halloumi was so salty but upon talking to others, that can be normal. Not a fan of the food at all 🙁

The vanilla lattè was that sweet it's as if they kept forgetting they'd already added the vanilla syrup.1

Didn't even get to point of sitting down to eat, nor opening my mouth to place my order, before the attendant at counter making coffees was outright rude and inhospitable towards me. I declined to do business there and instead went to Jilly's cafe 181 Margaret St...outstanding customer service, warm and welcoming, everything this place was not.

Great place to catch up with friends. The staff are friendly and prompt to deliver the order. Coffee good and food quite nice

Sunday breakfast with the kids. In this post COVID world they are running a reduced menu with no kids options on it. Don’t be afraid to ask for kids meals I have always found them to be happy to accommodate any requests. The staff were friendly and chatty here today. In a good way. Brock who was taking orders at the counter was great.

Worst service ever, very rude Barista. Was there 21/04/24 @ 11:30.
Orders coffee and food for dine in. Waited half hour then asked where order was. Order had been sitting on bench as a takeaway, their first solution was to give us the cold food and coffee, asked for fresh order rather then the cold coffee. Was told we would have to wait till other orders were finished so would take a while. Then asked for refund, barista said she had been calling our name out for a while. We weren't listening for our name as we had a table number and were sitting at a table, barista said that wasn't her problem. Then refunded the order with cash, legally they are required to refund with the card used to purchase but all staff were incompetent and didn't know how. If I was the owner I'd be firing the rude barista.
