Island View Caravan Park - Kinka Beach, Queensland

We enjoyed our week at Kinka Beach. The sites are spacious and grounds well maintained. The amenities were always spotless, and the gentleman who cleaned the amenities was always friendly, as was the office staff. The pools are a great size for everyone. I think once upon a time, you may have had island or beach views, but due to the overgrowth of bushes, etc, across the road, there is no view sadly. The caravan park and beach are dog friendly, with off leash allowed before 8am and after 4pm. There is an access point to the beach opposite the office. The caravan park is approximately 10 minutes from Emu Park and Yeppoon.

My Boyfriend and I are on a five weeks roadtrip up the eastcoast. So we are almost every day on an new Campground (free and paid).

From the 18.02-19.02 we visit the Island View Caravan Park with our Campervan on a powered site.
It is a very clean and beautiful campground.
We got a site in the sun but the owner (who was working on something next to us) asked immediately, if we want a site in the shade(nr.15). We agreed 🙂 very considerate!

We stayed the rest of the day at the two pools. You can lay down on a lounger in the sun or in the shadow. Perfect!

The amenities are very clean, in the girls bathroom are two hairdryers. On every toiletdoor are cute little pictures. You can feel that someone is taking very good care of the place and putting some thought into it.

We cooked our dinner at the campkitchen. You got the bbq station and one gasstove. The kitchen is great and clean.

A few mosquitoes are around but you can handle with that (normal with a lake near by).
The campground is very quiet and we slept till 8am (that never happend before).

Awesome family run caravan park with mini resort feel just across the road from the beach.
Been travelling for 6mths & this was the nicest caravan park we've stayed in yet.
Dog friendly. Lovely staff all round with 'can do' attitude. Clean amenities with lovely little touches like girly bathrooms & washing baskets in laundry. Daily rubbish service. Lovely pool area. Great caravan spots.
Close enough to Yeppoon, not to be in the hustle & bustle. It really is a lovely place to spend a week or three!
And no, I didn't get paid or a free night to do this review. What I got was a really enjoyable stay at a really nice spot on the map 🙏💜

Terrible People to deal with,
One of the worst Caravan Parks we have ever dealt with. Unfortunately the owners are Not God People which is a shame. They would not give us a credit or some sort of a small refund we did not expect a full refund as we mentioned on the phone & we genuinely understand you have a business to run & we do genuinely respect that however with our unfortunate situation that was totally out of our control we were not able to drive to your park which we were lookingfirward to so we thought you would be empathetic to our terrible situation through xmas. The van & vehicle was towed 800kms back home where we had to repair our vehicle but by the grace of God we arrived home safe. Our genuine intention was to come to your park as we had paid approx 6 months in advance. We just could Not believe how rude the owners Who are a husband & wife team which is lovely that you work together and form a strong bond, its great to see that, its just a shame when we asked for a possible credit of some sort or even some sort of refund due to our unfortunate circumstances tou just abruptly told us no which was quite hurtful & we even let you know days before that we were having car problems even then it seemed you did Not Care. It is Not about the refund nor the credit but the fact that you showed us NO EMPATHY, NO CARE OF OUR SITUATION THAT WAS MOST HURTFUL. Please understand we are Honest people & Honest Christians and have always been good people & we always try to do the right thing by God & by the people. We are human beings just please treat us nicely God watches over all of us & we believe in doing the right thing. We hope that you start to do the right thing by your customers & treat us all with dignity, respect & Honesty. God Bless 🙏🙏🙏

This is a lovely family owned, pet friendly caravan park situated across the road from Shoal Bay and only a few minutes' drive to Yeepoon and Emu Park. We booked for 2 nights and got 1 free, so end up being $ 50 per night for 2 adults, 2 kids, and dogs, which currently is pretty good. Staff were all friendly, and the grounds, toilets, and pool areas were well maintained.

Not a great stay here unfortunately. big 4 "affliate" park. cabin was ok, a bit older but clean enough. don't think the toilet/shower block had been cleaned all week.
Pools were nicely presented, but freezing, car covered in bat droppings and peacock dropings as they nest in the trees.
Quiet little town but not one we will be venturing back to.

What a great find! A beautifully curated caravan park in a bush setting. Lush gardens give shade hold so many facilities.
Adults only pool and area, kids pool, playground, camp kitchens and laundries.

My favourite was the private bathrooms. Lock the door and you have your own shower, toilet, vanity and space to get ready for the day. Great for families and grey nomads alike.

Lovely owners, super helpful and a great location with the beach across the road.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!!|Despite what counterclaims are raised by the staff at this location, (in an effort to try and save their reputation), it is information that is free and provided to you as a warning. My advice (which you can take or leave), is that there are many fantastic parks in this region and I suggest driving past or skipping over this one. |The place that misery forgot….. |A tied and dated caravan park, with cramped small sandy and dirty sites, set on a marsh-filled swamp, some sites obscured by trees or other objects. The initial greeting from the female staff member was neither rude nor welcoming, it was indifferent at best. Upon approach, she asked for my name, took payment, and identified a site number. She told me to keep my kids out of the adult pool and out the door you go, a miserable experience. Especially considering it was the school holidays. There was not a whisper of any family-oriented school holidays related activities etc. |Limited facilities such as two small pools located near the main driveway. The pools were surrounded by either other guests or permanent (long-termers), either way, the misery on their faces was real as they stared at us driving into the park. The movie “Deliverance” comes to mind at this point, I can still hear the banjo…|After the allocated site not being suitable, due to being blocked by a car and a large tree, the office was returned. Initially, a civil conversation was had and in fairness, another site was offered. The male owner of the park did not appreciate the feedback and my general feelings of the park. They by no means were agreeing to any sort of refund. However, I was aware of their cancellation policy, but they were not accommodating at all in regards to this even in part. |In the end, I expressed that I thought the place was “a dump” and told him I did not want to stay at the park. I was well aware that I was forfeiting my 5-night booking fee, I was happy to lose this money considering. It was at this point, he became aggressive and threatening, running around the counter to stand over me and order me out the door and off-site. I certainly was in the process of leaving as I was the one explaining I didn’t want to stay. He continued to stand over me and yell at me as I was walking away. He ran out to my car and recorded my vehicle registration, he stated that he would call every park in the area and make sure my wife and children didn’t get another booking. It was like an old Wild West movie, he was trying to run me out of town…|Upon arrival, to a neighbouring park, I could hear that he was on the phone with the staff member at our new location. I was surprised how a business owner could be so spiteful just because things didn’t go his way. In saying this, he had my money and I had left his park, he obviously couldn’t leave it at that. He was enraged and had lost any basis of professional control, a really good trait of a business owner.|Our new park discounted what they were told on the phone, obviously realising him as the fool that he is. We had a fantastic and enjoyable stay at our new location. |As I have said, this is free information for you to consider. I have the luxury of knowing what I know about this location and didn’t get trapped setting up at this place, to me forfeiting my booking was money well spent. I will never go back nor will I refer Island View Caravan Park in a good light. |Cheers and Happy Travels
