My booking with Island House on Magnetic Island was effected with the Brisbane Covid lockdown. The owner had no consideration of covid restrictions and no refund given when things were out of our control. He was condescending and totally disrespectful when talking to us and when I asked for a refund he told me ‘it’s only $250, you will be fine without it, it’s lucky it wasn’t more’. |I am not naive and understand people need to run a business, but when we are in a global pandemic and every other business associated with our trip that had to be cancelled, showed support and offered us a refund knowing we would rebook when allowed, I was horrified to have to communicate with this man and his condescending and rude manner.

Atha is an amazing host and provides great ideas and itineraries for trips and activities around the island. The house and bedrooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The pool and outdoor area is beautiful. The house is in an excellent location with regular buses right outside the front door all the way to Picnic Bay and Horsehoe Bay and everywhere in between. Atha makes a great breakfast and good coffee too. All of this combined makes for a very authentic stay on Magnetic Island!

Arthur...couldn't find a better host. He's not everyone's "night manager", but then you'd be a bit ' wet behind the ears'..especially if you didn't take the time to talk with a truly amazing individual. Take a step further and meet Steven, if he allows.
A great place to chill with true gentlemen.
We'll be back, no doubt.
Ask for Chunky peanut butter! 🤣👍👍👍
