InterContinental Sydney, an IHG Hotel - Sydney, New South Wales

The Intercontinental Sydney has enormous potential. However, since being renovated, service delivery has been unreliable at best and frequently disappointing.||The rooms, furnishings, and views have, for the most part, been excellent. My primary complaint about the hard product is the extremely poor water pressure.||When staying at a ‘luxury’ hotel, I very much look forward to a hot shower with plenty of pressure. On this occasion, I had trouble washing conditioner from my hair—an absolute dealbreaker.||Last night, I wasn’t able to use the phone in the room. I heard other people in the lift complaining about the same issue. What if there had been a fire or a medical emergency? Totally unacceptable.||Ordering cold water, or anything else for that matter, was not possible. I resorted to calling the hotel’s external number for service, and even this required three calls and 45 minutes.||I visited the bar on the 32nd floor last night and again tonight. The staff and cocktails were excellent; however, the toilets were comparable to those of a dirty roadhouse—an absolute war zone. There was urine, faecal matter, and toilet paper in and around the toilets. It was so disgusting that I returned to my room.||Both toilets were dirty on both nights. As someone who has managed a large venue, I can assure you this was not the result of an untidy customer—there is a management problem.||Despite having asked for my room to be serviced, the phone fixed, and my minibar restocked, I returned to find a minibar with no water.||The staff have all been gracious and professional, so I am left wondering: Who the heck is running this hotel—John Cleese?||The night supervisor was excellent and did her absolute best to address my concerns. We spent three nights at the Intercontinental and absolutely loved it. The staff were fantastic to deal with, and although we were there for business, it also happened to be my wife's birthday during our stay. Anna at the front desk went above and beyond by arranging for a personal note and a slice of delicious cake to be delivered to our room as a surprise. It was such a lovely touch, and we hope she receives recognition for her thoughtful gesture. We look forward to staying again in the future – many thanks!

This review is specifically about the concierge/club team on floor 31 of the Intercontinental Hotel Sydney. The manager, Katie and her team of Austin, Harvey and Daniella do an amazing job! We always felt so welcome, so well taken care of and they were incredibly attentive. It’s not often anymore that you get club level service of this caliber and kudos to Jatie and her team for always doing an amazing job. We will definitely stay here next time in large part because of their service. Well done!

Truly amazing hotel. Recently refurbished - rooms are plush and comfortable. The harbour views are breathtaking. Do yourself a favour and pay for Club Lounge access - the views from the Aster Bar are without doubt the best in Sydney. Proximity to all the best things Sydney has to offer (Botanic Gardens, Opera House, The Rocks, ferries to Manly or Watson's Bay) make it a great place to base yourself for a weekend or a week!! Even having grown up in Sydney, I still found it an incredible stay.

Lovely hotel. The rooms are newly renovated so have a great aesthetic, and are a good size. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is quite good.

Breakfast at the Conservatory has a good selection but the service is slow - order coffee the night before if you want to receive it within 15 or 20 minutes of arrival (and that's after you've waited in the queue for 5 minutes). On the other hand, when it arrives it's quite good.

This hotel has to be one of Australia’s best. It had comfortable rooms, great service snd parking. The unbelievable breakfast has an amazing amount of choice and is worth every cent. This hotel is close to Circular Quay and you can easily walk or get a ferry, train or Uber to most of Sydney’s attractions.

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Josh, and I couldn’t be more impressed with his professionalism and warmth. From the moment we were seated, Josh made sure we felt welcome and well taken care of.

His knowledge of the menu was exceptional, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering all our questions with patience. Throughout the meal, he was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our drinks were refilled and our needs met promptly.
