I’m honestly shocked by the customer service I received here — especially from a staff member named Trisha. I walked in at 2:18 PM to quickly purchase a cake. The staff immediately rushed me to pay, and when I politely asked about a birthday candle, Trisha abruptly told me to pay for the cake first. I complied, only to be told after payment that they were closed and couldn’t give me a candle. When I reminded her that she said she could get one, she snapped back, blaming me for “making them late.”

Her attitude was appalling. When I calmly told them I’d be leaving a review, she responded with, “I’ve never seen a customer like you.” Completely unprofessional.

To make matters worse, the small cake which takes $45 was not fresh at all, and this experience genuinely put a damper on my daughter’s birthday. I’ve never encountered such rude and careless service in a cake shop. It’s disappointing that someone like this is allowed to represent the business. Management seriously needs to re-evaluate the kind of staff they’re hiring. This was unacceptable.

This has been my go-to for birthday cakes.
Dropped by today for an early morning coffee and beef n mushroom pie. Would rate the pie a solid 7.5/10. Coffee was good. Having blankets on the seats outside was very considerate.

We live in Artarmon and we have tried their cakes and desserts which were flavorful and fresh. Today we tried their coffee and breakfast. The coffee was one of the best coffees in Artamon, but the scrambled eggs was a bit salty.

This place generally has very good desserts and a variety. It is quite expensive. I paid $50 for a 6 in cake. What annoyed me the most is that I went in today (a public holiday) to check if I could get a custom cake for tomorrow. They said they couldn't customise it so I said I'd just get a regular cake the next day. I was told to come in and buy it the next day to save the extra $. The lady at the counter then went away, came back and said I had to pay for it today if I wanted it tomorrow. When I asked why I couldn't just come in the next day, she insisted I pay for it now. I ended up paying the extra $4.5 - a public holiday service charge - while the only service provided was billing me. I feel cheated and won't be coming back to this bakery.

Last review: I got the fruit custard tart for a friend's bday and it was delicious.

I am a regular customer and I always order cakes for all occasions be it birthday or anniversary. Delicious cakes specially carrot cheese walnut and orange almond cakes. Good value for money. The only thing that I miss is that the cakes cannot be customized.

Interdesserts in Artarmon has become a regular stop for me after the Willoughby parkrun on Saturday mornings. It’s a solid choice if you're looking for fresh pastries and a decent coffee to start the weekend.

Their croissants and pastries are consistently good — crisp on the outside, soft inside, and can't go wrong on the flavours (Almond croissant a consistent winner). Prices are reasonable for the quality, though they often sell out by mid-morning, so it’s best to arrive early if you’re after specific items.

There’s also a good range of cakes and biscuits, with a mix of classic and seasonal options. Presentation is neat, and the products look good as a gift or on the breakfast plate. The coffee is reliable, well-made and consistent - though this is becoming standard in Artarmon these days.

One thing to note is their occasional seasonal items, such as Christmas shortbread, which are worth checking out if you’re after a small gift or something different.

Overall, Interdesserts is a well-run bakery that gets the odd queue of customers. It is more a shop/bakery than a cafe but delivers on what it offers. If you're in the area and want a quality pastry without too much fuss, it’s a dependable option.

The coffee is delicious and the staff are very friendly! My favourite from the baked goods section is the lemon meringue pie. Love the pre-order and pick-up option for the cakes/pastries 😊
