The service was poor, and the establishment was inadequate, with only one shared restroom. We ordered four meals, but they arrived at different times and with missing portions. One meal, for example, was missing chips, which took over half an hour to arrive after the main dish had been served. My wife ordered a steak sandwich, which took an hour to arrive. It seems they didn’t have the meat in stock, but instead of informing us, they went out to purchase it, prepare it, and cook it, resulting in a significant delay to our trip. We ultimately asked for the chips and steak sandwich as takeaway. However, even after all this, they managed to mix up the boxes, labeling the chips as the sandwich and vice versa.
To conclude, the steak turned out to be sliced meat and didn’t even taste good. I suggest staff training, a thorough review of procedures, and general improvements. Additionally, as I was leaving through the garden entrance, I noticed they hadn’t even bothered to trim the greenery around the door, forcing me to push the overgrown plants aside to exit.

We stopped by for coffee and cake on the halfway point from our drive from 1770 back to Brisbane. What a great find! An amazing range of beautiful cakes paired well with the good coffee, and the courtyard area tucked out back was a lovely place of tranquility to enjoy them. We paid $34 for 2 coffees and 2 cakes which is at the top end, but the portions are VERY generous and food quality was excellent so was happy to treat ourselves. Service was very good too. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere and vibe of this place are really pleasant, but unfortunately, there’s a lot to be desired when it comes to the service and food quality. When we placed our order, no one informed us that the wait time would be over 35 minutes, and we were also not told that some ingredients from the menu were unavailable.

I ordered the steak sandwich, which was fairly underwhelming. The cheese wasn’t melted, and the caramelized onions were missing. I also order the sandwich with fries and they came literally when we were about to leave the place. My partner had the roasted pumpkin dish, and it was even more disappointing — not only were two ingredients missing (avocado and halloumi), but when my partner asked a waitress about it, she simply said, “Oh, we might have run out.”

Overall, we were really dissatisfied with both the service and the food. Communication could definitely be improved—if items are out of stock or the wait time is long, these things should be communicated upfront to set expectations.

DO NOT go to this place. Both times they have missed an order item: both orders were for toasted sandwich 1 gluten free. So you wait 1/2 hr only to find out they haven’t done your order. The wait time is ridiculous when you’re travelling. And they charged $12 for the tiniest square of cake which is why I didn’t pick up on the missing item. $40 for a piece of cake and a toasted sandwich. Disgusting. The staff are from the movie Dumb and Dumber.

Had the best food at a quirky place called “insane caffeine” in Childers! Ham and crispy parmesan waffles and sweet potato rosti with eggs, avo and halloumi were the best and it was
Just so good to see somethings different on the menu! Coffee was sensational. Loved the quirky outside garden and that it is dog friendly.

Walked in with a queue to order. Five tables had obviously been finished with but there was no proactive approach to cleaning the tables and making room for customers to sit down. 50mins later and still not all the tables had been cleared. One staff member was occasionally picking up one or two items at a time. (A tray might have been good tool!) She was quite young and really needed some supervision.

Staff were friendly but young and not proactive. There were two exceptions for the staff , the barista and Elisabeth at the counter who was always looking to fill any quiet time at the register by ducking out to clear.

Food was good.
