An unexpected pleasure. We have been trapped in Coonabarabran for several days after a breakdown. Decided to head to the local watering hole for a quick dinner, expecting very little. BUT! My steak was beautifully tender and cooked just medium as I requested. A lovely, dressed side salad was included with crunchy chips. My partner's crumbed lamb chops were almost as good, cooked perfectly. Well done, Imperial Hotel! Also, adding to our pleasure, our favourite shiraz was available at the bar.

Drink prices great $7 schooner can get take aways. Good nightly food specials. Young friendly staff, Venue location in middle of town opposite Clock Tower. Large dining area. Didn't wait long for meals. Crumbed lamb cutlets very good. Lots of choice for take away drinks at fair prices.

Great atmosphere and meals. We were there on a very busy night and we didnt have to wait too long for our meals. Well heated in the Winter with a lovely fire in the bar which you can sit around. Staff are friendly, beer is fresh. If you are looking for somewhere in Coonabarabran to eat this is the place to go.

Had dinner here. We got drinks first and the lady behind the bar was lovely.
We were a table of 2 and would have thought our meals would have come out hot, but no they were cold. The veggies tasted like they had been frozen and just defrosted, the chips were lukewarm and the schnitzel was only just warm. The fish looked like what you can buy at the supermarket and was also cold.

As a family of six, we had a wonderful dinner at the Imperial Hotel in the lovely town of Coonabarabran, on a very busy night only a couple of weeks back. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend.

My husband and I gave it one last try., as we had been several times before for lunch and found the experience pretty average. The same woman behind the bar, surly as usual, but the food this time was practically inedible. We left our meals as we could not continue to eat them. It's a shame because there are very few options in Coona and really hoped they had improved. I recommend the person responsible for the menu go out of Coon area to see what other pubs are offering and their standards bbecause it is like it is still 1980 where people didn't really expect much.

Got there for the 6 o'clock dinner service to find out the chef was running half an hour late, it caused a bit of chaos on 2 for Tuesday for the oldies that weren't tech savvy and couldn't use the app but for us it was great, we ordered a chicken schnitty that was really big and thick and a massive Hawaiian pizza as part of the 2 for deal and I got a 300 gram Sirloin steak cooked blue with the diane sauce (sauce cost $3 which was a bit much) good sauce though. Steak was cooked perfectly, it actually blew me away that it was cooked perfectly for a blue steak in a country pub. Chef can take all the time be wants when he produces the goods as good as he did.

Very overpriced for the room. Basic is an understatement. Shared tea coffee making facilities with other rooms. The beds looked shabby and the room was not decorated at all. Nowhere to sit. It was not value for money. We walked in and walked straight out again.
