I greatly appreciate Hyatt for an incredible 3-night stay. This was my first time staying here and I was greeted warmly by everyone, from the front desk to the concierge team. The breakfast was excellent, and the pool and spa facilities were very relaxing. Thank you for the exceptional hospitality during my stay. The only minor issue I had was the spa not working, but the staff quickly addressed it and assured me they would inform the front desk. Overall, it was an excellent stay. Thank you, Mike.

Very disappointing experience. While the location and surroundings of the hotel were excellent, the stay itself was one of my worst in Canberra.

We had booked and paid in advance, including breakfast, complimentary champagne and parking. However, during the excessively long check-in process, we were unexpectedly charged again for our stay. When we later raised the issue with reception, they confirmed we had already paid in advance for our booking but offered no apologies. Instead, they claimed that the additional amount charged during check-in was a deposit they take from every guest. This left us puzzled, as the deposit matched the exact cost of our stay, including additional fee for breakfast and parking. Ironically, at checkout, we were once again asked to pay for our stay and food, resulting in another 25 minutes of waiting at checkout while they tried to confirm our payment in their system.

To make matters worse, the champagne was delivered at 9am in morning before checkout. The chocolates never arrived, and room service failed to show up despite our calls. The car park was outdated, with unfinished construction, and the food was mediocre. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience for a hotel of such reputation.

My wife and I were here to work with a school and see friends during the day. I chose the Hyatt because it is just so good! Rooms - wonderfully comfortable, clean of course; Promenade Cafe - brilliant breakfasts - the maitre d' is simply terrific. No request is too much, every option is always left open. See him! Front desk is attentive and willing to look for whatever they need to find for the guests.||A truly amazing oasis in Canberra. Beautiful art deco, heritage protected facility that draws you in and makes you relax a bit. Just down the long malls from museums, galleries and Parliament House.||You can walk outside safely - it is a gem! Will be back!

Beautiful and gracious old hotel set amongst lush and well kept gardens. Easy access to Canberra’s bike paths and the lake; concierge was happy to store our e-bikes for us. We stayed in the most basic room but that was sufficiently comfortable, spacious, and luxurious apart from a minor issue with the air conditioning. Coffee machine in the room, well equipped bathroom with a huge bath, and a wonderful buffet breakfast (worth the cost) made the experience memorable. The pool and spa were very pleasant, if crowded. The hotel has EV charging although if you’re not paying for parking in their car park the chargers can only be accessed when the concierge is working and can accompany you.

Excellent hotel that I find fits my family's style. A very grand entrance hall met our eyes as we walked in and the staff at the service counter were very kind and helped us do the check in process really quickly. The room was extremely well cleaned and contained slippers, tooth brushes, soap and body wash. The bed was very comfy. If your family is larger than 3 members, use the telephone to call the front desk to give you an extra bed.

I have stayed at many Hyatt hotels globally, and I can confidently say that this hotel does not live up to the Park Hyatt standard or what the brand represents. In fact, it’s far below Hyatt Place and Hyatt Regency locations I’ve visited.

As others have mentioned, the entrance is far from luxurious - it resembles an old car wash. Just because a place is dated and faded does not mean it exudes ‘old money’ charm.

The room was particularly disappointing, with a design that felt more like a cheap motel. The air conditioning was extremely loud, and the toilet was so outdated that it continued to make loud, unpleasant noises for 10 minutes after each flush.

Unfortunately, the poor experience extended to the service. The check-in was very tedious and long. There’s no complimentary valet parking (it costs AUD 20), and shockingly, no bellhops or porters—an odd oversight for a hotel attempting to project an ‘old money’ vibe.

In summary, this hotel is far from worth the price. You’ll get little more than a motel experience. Avoid it.

The hotel is a rabbit Warren. It’s as if it was built in multiple stages that don’t connect properly with one another. Easy to get lost in the building. ||The room was neat and tidy, but there were some maintenance issues.||I was very surprised and disappointed to be charged as a $40 for two poached eggs at breakfast when I was under the impression that breakfast was included in my room tariff. In any event, $44 seemed rather steep?||Overall a reasonable experience except for this.

The Hyatt Hotel in Canberra is an institution steeped in history. The hotel has a gracious old world feeling, but with modern amenities. It is well-located being in walking distance to Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffen and Canberra City. The rooms are very quiet and the beds very comfortable ensuring a good night's sleep.
