This self contained cottage is new and beautifully appointed and myself and my friend were the first to stay there. The luxuriant linen and spa tub complimented the overall ambience and facilities that were really comfortable and relaxing and the dinner provided on check in night was delicious. The food for breakfast and snacks was equally impressive, with free range eggs and bacon and anything else you might want for brekky. We sat out on the deck in the balmy evening and soaked up the stunning views of the river and surrounding hills. The attention to detail of things such as high quality toilettries and facilities along with the friendly welcome were absolutely special and i would highly recommend Huon River Cottage for one night or an extended stay.

What an incredibly beautiful place ! There were so many "WOW" "WOW" "WOW" moments ! Jilly has thought of absolutely everything to make for a very special holiday home. The views are spectacular, the house is exceptionally clean, warm, inviting & a fabulously equipped kitchen! My husband, 2 kids and I had the most wonderful 5 nights here over New Year and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a get away!

Wow what a beautiful cottage!! Huon River Cottage offers guests the opportunity to relax in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom full furnished, modern cottage. Situated on a beautiful farm, the views of the Huon River, surrounding orchards and farm land are stunning. We were able to explore the local area and simply relax in this beautiful location. The cottage was simply wonderful. I highly recommend a stay at the Huon River Cottage.

Wow – where to begin? The house is big and beautiful and clean and warm and was the perfect place for our weekend away. The view is ridiculous - 180° panorama of Castle Forbes Bay out the window as you look down over rolling paddocks to the water. Instantly makes you kick down a gear (maybe that’s The Huon Effect?). We were a party of 3 mamas and 4 kids (gumboots aplenty piled at the front door for our trip). The kids loved feeding the sheep with “Jilly” – our gorgeous host who lives in the farmhouse down the hill and couldn’t be more “just what you need” if she tried. She greeted us on arrival with a platter of local produce and wine, she fed the lambs and collected fresh eggs with the kids, she sent us off to some great little ‘local secrets’ to see while we were down and she even offers a babysitting service…we love you Jilly! That said, we all agreed our next trip here will be sans kids. The house has just been fully renovated and has definite feel of executive style. All of the extras and quality finishes that make it that step above. Thanks so much again guys, we’ll be back!||

WOW! WOW! WOW!What a beautiful property and location, everything was perfect. Our hosts went above and beyond what was expected. Beds were luxurious, spa bath was awesome & amenities supplied great! We will recommend to everyone we know. We will definitely be back and will stay longer than the 3 days, no other properties we stayed at on our trip even compared to Huon River Cottage. We really enjoyed our relaxing 2 day stay at this property, soaking up the the superb views from the picture windows. The house is spacious, beautifully appointed and functional, spotlessly clean, and well provisioned - the many nice little touches with decor and provisioning made us feel rather special.

Disappointing. If you stayed at the previous cottage, you're going to be very disappointed. Whilst the original was one of the best homes we have stayed in, the current cottage was not so and certainly not worth the $325 per night. The positives are that the home was clean and the beds are very comfy and warm. ||||The not so good:||- The only supplies in the kitchen are salt, pepper, tea bags, coffee and a couple of small UHT milk. You will need to bring literally everything to do any cooking.||- Lack of crockery, cutlery glassware and cookware and what is there is mismatched and cheap.||- Lack of heating in bedrooms.||- No shampoo and only cheap motel like little soap bars. Ineffective hair dryer.||- Noisy, being only 40m from Huon Highway.||||I could easily add to the list, but room won't permit. ||||It really is a far cry from the previous cottage (3 out of 10 compared to 9.5). Very reminiscent of an old 3 star motel on a busy highway. Unfortunately, comes at a premium price. First and last stay here.

This house has everything you could ask for. It is spacious, with three attractively furnished bedrooms, a superb fully equipped kitchen and a big comfortable lounge with a log fire. It was hard to leave! The scenery around this area is picturesque and often breath-taking. It is an unspoilt corner of Tasmania.
