As a certified local guide, I hereby declare that this is best spot to watch the stars.

I have traveled to Mt Wellington in Hobart to watch the stars, but somehow this house on a hill in Dorrigo beats Hobart.

Highly recommend you sit by the fire, turnoff your phone and grab a camping chair and just watch the stars.

House is really clean and quiet, with unbelievable mountain view. rain water is in use, the only difference is that it sometimes can be sticky but use soap to wash your hands.

What an experience! please see the photos of the stars, and take your own photos!

Book us in again please House on a Hill!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the neat, tranquil farm setting just outside of Dorrigo. The farm has it’s very own rainforest with waterfalls, plentiful bird life and rugged terrain if you’re up for an adventure. Dorrigo is close by for supplies, more rainforest exploring and beautiful artisan wares. If you don’t feel energetic it’s lovely to just kick back in the sun and enjoy the picture perfect views, with all of the comforts of home.
If you’re looking for a great place to relax and unwind this is just the place!

We wanted to stay close to waterfall way as we were on a trip to see the waterfalls in the dorrigo area and we were so delighted to find House on the Hill. This new, well appointed light filled house has a jaw-dropping view stretching out across a pristine landscape. The fresh air was just wonderful, it was great to see the stars and a treat to see the dawn lying in bed through the large windows in the main bedroom. No wi fi was a welcome relief allowing my 2 teenagers to look up from their screens and we all enjoyed the fireplace. The deli in dorrigo was really well stocked with fresh meats cheeses pies lasagne so eating in was easy. We are very happy to recommend House on the Hill for its beautiful setting and friendly hosts.

We spent a lovely weekend at House on a Hill, Dorrigo. The bedrooms are glorious - floor to ceiling windows looking out over breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. A wood fireplace and a spacious living area make this the perfect place to unwind and relax. It is located just out of the Dorrigo township - a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to easily access all the sights.
