We sat out the back in the beer garden with our two dogs. It’s really a smoking area but they have tried to make a nice garden at the side.
Hubby had the lunch burger special and I had the Thai Beef salad. Both were pretty ho-hum.
The burger meat was small and overcooked/tough. The bun was very dry and hard to bite through.
The meat in the Thai Beef salad was bbq steak which was disappointing. At $22, I expected at least slices of rump or fillet. The salad was just a mixed leaf like you get in the packs at the supermarket and there were only two cherry tomatoes. Staff were friendly and service was good.

Cool large traditional country pub. Love the decor and the country Queensland ambience. Pretty decent beer choices. Didn’t eat, so can’t comment on that. Barflies were a little intimidating as you walked in but opened up when you chatted. Would go again.

The other meals looked great but the steak burgers were awful. We saw the steak sandwich was a lunch special of $15 but we paid $19.90 as he said we would get a better steak.Tiny piece of burnt meat and the bun was so tough you could hardly bite it. We were so hungry we ate it all but I would never recommend.

A disappointing light lunch at the Cecil Hotel.
Because of our pet pups we were given the only option to eat in the beer garden. The beer garden was better described as the smoking area, dirty ashtrays full or water, an unkempt garden, a mop and bucket and no ambiance to speak of. The meals were also disappointing, dry old bread roll, dry and tough bbq steak and the same bbq steak in the Thai beef salad, very few salad items in the salad despite it not being on the specials board.

Had dinner here and it was delicious!! Sizes of the portions were massive we had to takeaway containers for our leftovers! Prices were extremely reasonable. Service was excellent! Everyone was so friendly and personable, atmosphere was relaxed and family friendly. We loved it!

The last of the great Aussie pubs! Fantastic meals, beautiful building and the publican, staff and locals made for a night to remember. I wish it was my local. I am definitely driving the 4 hours from home to have a couple of beers and stay the night in the near future. 10000 starts.

Stopped in here yesterday for a couple of drinks and lunch. Very nice pub with the historical feel and lots of history. Publican Rob and his bar staff are awesome, very friendly and customer service A++ meals were fantastic. Had a great afternoon we will be back thanks for you're hospitality
