Stopped for a pie while on a road trip with a friend. Both of our pies were terrible.
Friend got the peppered pie, tasted terrible and the meat was undercooked. I got the chunky steak pie and the gravy was watery and the meat was red? Not sure if it was undercooked or it was corned beef?… which is just weird in a pie… either way the texture and flavour were off.
We only ate the pastry lids!

Would not recommend to anyone. Ever.

We bought the steak and kidney pie, just Devine, lots of kidney cooked perfectly. We also bought the chocolate lamingtons, which were mouth watering soft and the sponge was the best. A must stop for the pies and lamingtons, and the service.
Next time we are up this way Hot Bread Fred is a must stop. Thanks.

How this place is rated so high is beyond belief. I will say the staff member was welcoming and friendly but the pie and sausage roll were below servo standard.
1. Sausage roll was dry and there was nothing flakey or fresh about it. These Cannot be made in house as they all the same in the window.
2. Pepper steak pie……plenty of pepper in the pie but after my first bite when I saw vegetables and a white sauce I almost fell off my chair. The meat was also silverside and not steak. I’m still scratching my head as I drive further north.

Went to this bakery at 1 pm on Friday, April 26, and asked if they had any bread, rude woman screams from the rear of shop "all sold out!" I ask any rolls? Again, "all sold out"
Turns out it was a good thing, i went up the street to Childers Hot Bread & Cake shop.
The lovely staff had a couple of catering loaves left, so they cut one for me. I also purchased a couple of sausage rolls that were so moist and delicious, even included free choice of takeaway sauces.

A day has passed and I'm still sick of the Pepper pie I ate yesterday. We have spent $30 ,on 2 pies, cakes and a Danish.
The pies were really bad,the Danish was stale and tasteless and so was the cake! The worst bakery we have ever visited by far!
Unfortunately not a great variety of food choices at 3pm to choose from in this town!
Still I wish I never visited this bakery....

My husband & I got steak & pepper & vegetable pies. We were told it had a creamy sauce. My pie was so dry that I found it inedible. The sauce had dried up altogether. I took 2 bites & had to throw it away & tried to catch the other bakery where we went last time where the pies were delicious, but it was shut (Childers Hot bread and Cakd Shop). My husband didn’t like his either & wasted a quarter of his pie. We went to the pub across the road instead.

Jalepeno pie was to die for. The perfect pie in my opinion. The classic steak and kidney pie was great also.
