I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Brisbane over Christmas 2024 and I couldn't have been more impressed. The breakfast was magnificent and set me up for the rest of the day.

The facilities were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable.

I only had one issue with the T.V., but was resolved very quickly.

Staff were very nice

Rooms were clean but basic

Has everything you need: gym, laundry, breakfast, lobby, etc...

Location is great, clean, safe and only slightly away from central station.

Affordable

Note 1: This is a midrange hotel, so you just expect that. They will provide you with pretty much everything a more expensive hotel will, but with less flair. I think they strike a pretty good balance.

We will stay there again this summer.

I have stayed at the IHG Holiday Inn Express Brisbane Central a few times now, I love the central location & reasonable price. The included breakfast is excellent, simple but sufficient & extremely convenient. The fact that parking is available directly downstairs for $25 is also very convenient.

This issue I had with my last visit was that from check in to check out there was NO HOT WATER for the entire stay. I understand that these issue sometimes happen but it is the way they are dealt with that makes all the difference. Although the front of house staff were very apologetic, and promised that I would receive direct follow up, I have not heard a thing since.

To say I'm very impressed is an understatement. I paid a fair market rate for accomodation and expect the service to represent that, but unfortunately there was an issue which I totally understand and accept but to be left to expect no contact afterwards is totally unacceptable.

Signage is not great so it is not easy to find but we were welcomed on arrival by friendly staff. The hotel is modern and clean with comfortable rooms. The free breakfast is good with many options. There is a limited dinner menu. The bar prices are a little high but there is a 3 hour happy hour. It is close to the city.

Clean and quiet room, service is as well as what you expect from IHG group. Breakfast is delicious but could use more variety. The view is not bad on higher floor. This hotel has free gym and paid laundry room.

Perfect location, great price, clean, basic breakfast for my 4 nights stay before end of year. The only thing i was not so pleased is when a staff member refused to get me a spoon when there’s non left. She looked like Latino in white shirt. I ended up asking a staff at the bar. Not sure if this is a common practice in a hotel to be honest but she was super rude.

Holiday Inn Express Brisbane offers a convenient location near the city centre, ideal for business and leisure travelers looking to explore Brisbane. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with essentials, providing a good night's sleep. However, the room service quality is disappointing, with slow response times and a lack of attention to detail. The included breakfast is a plus, and the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful, but the room service experience detracts from the overall stay. For those who prioritize location and convenience over dining quality, it remains a decent value option in Brisbane.

The expectations were high for this hotel, in Helsinki they offer suberb lunch. The ingredients for being a great hotel are there, but under utilized. The water from the tap tastes like sewer, and same goes for the breakfast hot water and coffee. The breakfast itself is just a bunch of pastries, no fresh vegetables, only apples. If you’re up for sandwiches this might work, however I cannot eat any of that. The eggs were also tasteless. Had to buy my own breakfast. When it comes to the room - the views are outstanding on 11th floor. The noises thought are heard not only from the elevator or the corridor but if you are traveling with a partner and want to use bathroom you will hear everything due to the glass walls and door. It is a bit different experience, and it could be nice as said, but the floors and glass walls are filthy - mold hasn’t been touched for some time. They do give you fresh towels, enough of them. We were also displeased by the refrigerator that made weird noises - so much that the sleep was interrupted. No compensation or upgrade room - not forgetting it was Christmas time. We checked the laundry where they have a microwave, the drums looked very used - I wouldn’t wash my clothes there even for free.
The location is strange - up hill, close to the center though. When it’s humid it’s a challenge to climb. Overall didn’t like it and wouldn’t go again.
