It was much bigger and better than I expected. There were 32 buildings to look in and so many exhibits to look at. The volunteers were friendly explaining things to us. There were so many things from my grandparents era.You need over 1 hour or more to see everything.

Absolutely incredible place you must go and see! Loved every display and building so much history about Hervey Bay and logging and Fraser Island! Incredible displays and lots to see!

The museum is an interesting place to visit with many local rescued buildings such as the church and vestry, slab homestead, railway station and smithy.
The development and history of Hervey Bay and the surrounding area is well documented and there is lots to see.
Of particular note are all the vehicles which are well maintained and obviously loved.
Admission prices are reasonable and drinks are available on site. Allow about an hour for a visit. Unfortunately there are no specific interactive activities for children.

I was absolutely amazed by this museum. So many amazing items kept in great condition and the history about the area is incredible to see. Just the history that has been kept and look after and placed here was just fantastic we learnt so much about the area. The displays and walk throughs are great and then you can watch and learn demonstrations. I can’t recommend this place enough!

A must see if you’re visiting Hervey Bay! We brought our young kids through and spent hours - it’s deceptive how much there is to see! The displays are wonderful and well maintained, a credit to all involved.

Credit to all the volunteers. Step back in time to view collection pieces of the past. Everything from phones, railways, ships, schools, Machinery and more. A display village well worth the $10 entry fee. Make sure you leave at least two hours to wander through this time capsule of history.

This museum is absolutely amazing.
The historical buildings and treasure trove of antiques provide visitors to the area a remarkable insight to life in the past and a wonderful trip down memory lane.
The volunteers do an incredible job and should be praised for their amazing efforts.
The photos are a very, very small sample of what you can expect to see.

Set yourself two days to truly enjoy the experience of this blast from the past visit.

Such a great museum! As we entered the place, we were welcomed by two volunteers who were friendly and knowledgeable! The museum is very well maintained and organised. It was a very interesting morning where we had the opportunity to learn more about Hervey Bay history.
