Stayed as a guest of a long term tenant here, didn't have any prospective of service to speak of.
But the grounds were clean, and the rooms were rather well furnished, a comfortable size, and has a swimming pool/barbecue area for tenants, and rather ample parking also. Quite nice compared to some of the communal accommodation facilities around Fraser Coast.

We stayed here after reading the reviews. We stayed in apartment 1 which was on a very quiet side road and contained everything you would need from a motel at a reasonable price. It is about 50 metres from a really nice sandy beach. Andre the owner is incredibly helpful and even drove us to and picked us up from the airport as we were going to Lady Elliot island during our stay. He also told us where we could go to see a group of kangaroos nearby - he will also take you if you don't have a car. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed at the Colonial Lodge along with 7 other couples. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Andre, who personally showed us to out accommodation. Aside from being great value for money, the rooms were spacious and spotless. The kitchen had a more than adequate supply of equipment and had the everyday bits and pieces of pantry supplies such as oil, glad wrap etc. we were extremely impressed. Andre and his wife are a delightful couple and nothing was too much trouble for them. If ever we are up in Hervey Bay again we would certainly book the Colonial Lodge.

Very nice staff, the showers are great and the food is cheap and yummy. But when we got into our lodge, the kettle had ants in it. The tv keeps turning off for no reason, and the single beds are thin and cheap. The spa is the same temperature as the pool, and the pool area in general seems like it hadn't been renovated for 10 years.

We were warmly greeted by Andre at reception and he took us to our room (No 1), showed us around the property and gave us tips what to do and where to go. The room was very spacious, had a kitchenette with fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toast, everything to make your own meals. There was a living room with 2 comfy recliners, 2 sofas and a TV, and a separate bedroom and shower bathroom. All rooms with aircon. We only spent 1 night but you can easily spend more time here. Just one block / 3min walk to the beach, and a nice walk along the water to some cafes and restaurants. Andre also dropped us off at the airport the next morning which was a great additional service.

We have been to this motel so many times that I think we have stayed in every room and each one is spotlessly clean. Andre and Ronaly are to be congratulated on how the motel is run and they truly are the kindest people giving that extra boost to the holiday. There are so many little things like always providing more tea bags, milk etc. which one does not get in the most expensive apartment in Hervey Bay. We have found this out, but always return to the Colonial. The pristine beaches are just a short walk from the motel. There are plenty of eating places along the esplanade. During our stay there was a group of 14 people there and on Sunday night Andre and a friend put on a music show of rock and roll and it was just great. We had a bbq , bought our own meat and Andre provided the salads. We would not think of staying anywhere else on our frequent visits to beautiful Hervey Bay.

We went on a family weekend away.||We were warmly meet by Andre at the Airport who took us for a quick tour around town before showing us to our accommodation (room 6). There was plenty of room, and had everything we needed. The room was clean, and bed comfortable. room was quite also.

3 months ago we booked a 3 night stay at our favourite Colonial Lodge Hervey Bay, stayed many times, love the motels, so quiet, our queen bed which is a must and everything so clean and tidy. However this time we were put in a unit at Hervey Bayline on the Esplanade, very noisy at night, only a double bed and not up to the standard of the Lodge motels. Had we wanted a second rate unit by the beach we would have booked one and not paid top dollar for it either. We were so disappointed seems we might have to find another motel for the future.
