It’s a beautiful location with so much potential . It’s a shame that it’s not ran well . First it states that it’s a four bedroom that sleeps twelve . It’s only a three bedroom with five beds . Second , they cancelled our ghost tour the day that we were arriving . On the website it states that it will run even if it rains . It did rain but nothing that an umbrella couldn’t handle . We were celebrating a 40th and a 50th bday . We had 6 women from around Australia , planning had went for months and the main reason we were staying on cockatoo island was to participate in the ghost tour . We did attend the heritage tour at 11am then since they cancelled our ghost tour , we heard about the jail tour at 1:30 . I quickly went in and purchased the tickets for another 156 .00 . Only to be disappointed , it was the exact tour word for word and the same places . Still hoping for a refund . Went into the office and they said they couldn’t refund , so they can take my money but can’t refund ? Also would like to add that checkin isn’t until 4pm on Friday , only one set of keys , no WiFi , no explanation of the house , it wasn’t until the second day that we discovered the second bathroom , that is outside . Would of been nice to know with 6 women . There was no place to eat on Friday night so we all brought food and wine in our suitcases , so our luggage was heavy . The man drove us up the hill then just sat there while us ladies struggled to get the luggage in and out of the buggy . Sat went down the hill to get lunch only to be told that they were not serving lunch only coffee . Once again would like to state it’s an amazing location , we only wish it could live up to its potential .

So much potential but really haven't nailed the execution. For starters, 1 set of keys only, despite up to 12 guests (security needs consideration as there isn't really any signage telling island visitors that these buildings are off-limits). Great location though

Wonderfully unique accommodation booked through NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service. Fully furnished heritage housing with all mod cons. Great for a stay-cation with the family/friends over a weekend
