Customer Feedback and Recent Developments

\n

Hello Happy Strathfield currently maintains 343 reviews on Google My Business, providing a valuable insight into the customer experience. The average opinion is 3.5/5, indicating a generally positive reception. However, recent feedback highlights some areas for improvement. Several reviews mention inconsistencies in menu offerings, specifically referencing a previous issue with the Korean Egg Drop sandwich. One customer reported a significant change in preparation, describing the dish as resembling a burger and egg roll rather than the original item, despite repeated requests for the correct preparation. The customer expressed frustration with the staff's inability to replicate the traditional egg drop recipe, even after multiple attempts. It appears there have been changes in the kitchen staff, leading to a deviation from established recipes. While the cafe offers a wide range of options, it is important for them to maintain consistency and clearly communicate any menu adjustments to customers. There is a suggested need for clearer communication regarding unavailable or modified menu items.

I came here around in January and ordered a Korean egg drop from the menu. Unfortunately, it seems there has been changes of the chief and he didn’t know how to made it and served something like a burger / beckon and egg roll. I explained to the front staff for what is egg drop sandwich and how the egg should be mixed. They said they got it and and did it a second time however nothing seemed changed except for they added a different sauce. They should remove things from the menu or let customers know if they are not available or don’t know how to make it.

I tried Bingsu at this dessert store and based on my experience, I will vote 3 stars as nothing special. I tried 2 favours (strawberry and matcha), but the taste is really the same, just colour different. The fruit topping was not fresh as well.
Won't come back for Bingsu.

I bought mango cake and sweet potato cake. It was very dry. The mango was even more drier. I couldn't eat it anymore, so I threw it away. I even paid for the Takerway and Holiday surcharge , but it's the worst. I'm never going again.

We ordered green tea bingsu.

Very bland flavour. They just dust green tea powder on top of vanilla ice cream which other shops they serve the actual green tea ice cream. The bingsu is vanilla flavour as well. Not green tea. Quite disappointed.

Cheese cake and chocolate cake are very dense.

We ordered the Mango Bingsu for dine-in and a Tiramisu Cake to-go. Unfortunately, the mango in the bingsu was quite sour, likely because it’s not mango season, so they probably used unripe fruit. Additionally, the mochi bits didn’t really complement the overall flavor of the bingsu.

On the positive side, the Tiramisu Cake was delicious! It wasn’t overly sweet, which we really appreciated.

A longstanding customer of this cafe and I've probably seen the decline within the last month or two. Don't believe me, check my photos. Not coming back that's for sure. Would rather spend my money elsewhere. Can't believe this business calls these cakes! Absolutely appalled at the shocking decline of quality of cakes from this cafe. They look disgusting and taste twice as terrible. Not sure who's making these but I reckon they should go to someone else or whoever makes these needs to go back to pastry school and learn how make and decorate cakes properly! Hugely disappointed!

Not awful but not amazing either. I've been here a few times and the reviews and rating does reflect what you get here. A while back, the taro bingsu I tried tasted weird and was filled with a bunch of odd ingredients nor did the actual bingsu itself taste much of taro. The cakes are dry and bland like they've been kept in the display case longer than they should've.
Recently we tried the mango bingsu which we had mixed feelings about. Why isn't the ice infused with mango flavouring and why aren't fresh mangoes used? Frozen mangoes are used instead and the bingsu is a basic milk flavour. That being said, it didn't taste terrible but it's pushing it for $19. I'd pay max 15. Also, was bit pissed to see afterwards in other reviews that it was actually supposed to come with a cheesecake slice but we weren't given that nor was an explanation given as to why - I don't care if I miss out so long as you tell us.
It'd be a place I'd go to if the queues for other bingsu places are long and I'm feeling desperate. The vibes of the cafe are great and it's a nice place to sit down with friends
