After 2pm we went searching the esplanade for a cafe that’s open for coffee, we arrived at Hatch and were welcomed in with a bright greeting and smile.
As it was close to end of the day the display fridge may not look as it does during the day in my photo, but I could see it would be filled with a nice selection of both savoury and sweet eats.
We ordered coffees and a fruit tart.
The coffee was very good, smooth and delicious and the fruit tart was really nice, with velvety custard, sweet glazed fruit and buttery pastry.
Zymil was used for my lactose free option.
With customers arriving after us it is clear this is a popular place to pop in with many regular customers.
There’s a beautiful array of creative gifts and wares to admire as you’re waiting for your coffee.
Dogs welcome outside, not to mention a great position just a few steps away from the Urangan Pier.
What a fun little space this is to enjoy!

Unique & Creative Cafe - true warm and friendly hospitality by locals for locals and visitors alike and the best coffee and brekkie wraps. And it’s dog friendly with free treats for your mutt!

Oh and they have an eclectic array of art, gifts, books and the like ❤️ something for everyone! Love it!

This charming little café is an absolute gem! Filled with a variety of artwork and lovely gift items, it creates a delightful atmosphere. The coffee is exceptional—every sip is a treat. I love placing my order and then wandering around the shop, discovering all the unique treasures it has to offer. Worst service by very rude lady who claims to be a manager. Iced late was more like flavoured water and severely overpriced. Perhaps thats why it is foremost a craft shop and cafe second 🤔

Eclectic shop with coffee and art/clothing for sale. Most importantly the service was welcoming despite how busy it was and the coffee tastes great. Perfect stop before walking along the pier.

Our go-to coffee spot, store is excellent, coffee is world class, everyone is friendly. Grab a coffee and cross the road to the base of the Urangan pier around 6am, and you've got a prime people- and dog-watching spot to start your day.
