Stayed here for the night as we had a car breakdown and this was the nearest town with a car hire business. The main park was full so we were in the location with units and with 1 pool 1km away. The place was pretty retro and needed a make-over. Was like a 70s brick motor inn with a REALLY hard bed! Not a place I would stay more than 1 night. We brought packed food to make breakfast in the morning but found the stove top wasn't working. Tried calling a few different numbers to get help with it (about 90 minutes before check-out time) and couldn't get a response. Eventually did just in time and got to use the kitchen next door before we had to leave.
Anyway, the feature is obviously the pools. We used the big pool near our room which was nice (and really hot). After 20 minutes we got out as this one pool was 40°. Later we drove to the other location. Here the pools were great! 5 pools with different temperatures which was nice. We had one incident that really ruined the vibe though!!! My wife and I were having a nice chat (after a rough few days with our car drama), she moved in to give me a kiss and we were suddenly interrupted by a man standing over us by the pool. He was a staff member of the complex and in front of everyone else nearby, he said, 'you can't do that here. There are people around. If you want to do that, get a room!' We initially thought he was joking but NO! He was seriously scolding a husband and wife for having an innocent kiss in the pool!! After he walked off, the other couples around us where laughing and also shocked. One man commented that he hadn't heard anything like that since being told off in school! It was ridiculous! My wife and I both just sat there in the pool in disbelief for awhile and our relaxation sure went out the window. It felt like we were in a strict religious country with crazy rules about public affection!! At the time we were quite mad and shocked by it, the next day it seemed also quite funny as it was so odd to be scolded like children in a public place like that. This place really needs to work on getting some upgrades and some customer service training for staff.

We had the most amazing experience with the thermal pools. Never knew how great and beneficial they are.|Booked a cabin weeks ago and the lady was so helpful and courteous.|I was on my own and family were meeting me. On arrival I was early, understandably the cabin wasn’t ready. I was able to wander, go to the pool and look around, cafe was very good and delicious food.|Cabin was a basic as booked. Had everything I needed. I chose to take my own linen.|I locked my self out of cabin and had to wait until 9am for help. Staff were helpful once they opened.|The next 2 days I went to the amenities while out of the cabin and they were filthy, the sanitary bins were full and dirty people still left their used Tena pants not in a rubbish bag. This was not removed. |There is so much choice for accommodation and we will return, when this happens I will report the inadequate cleaning.|Everyone should

This place was nice in the pool very good for your skin and hair. We were the only young people there (30s) little bit of a senior citizen center, no kids activities. Amenities were clean enough but lots of things needed fixing that looked like it was never getting fixed after 10 years or more. Washing machines about 5 there but maybe two worked, pricy breakfast wouldn't get it again partner didn't mind his, staff were nice enough. We personally would re visit but did enjoy the pools. Definitely an experience.

Jammed into a very small space- our small van was literally less than 30 centimetres to the next van- the occupants of which winged about us being outside their window- as if we had a choice! The amenities were very ordinary and need replacing and didn’t seem clean. The only thing going for it are the thermal pools. If that’s why you’re there you might be able to overlook that the place is otherwise crap. It’s also Boganville. Moree seems otherwise nice and there surely must be some much better places to stay and enjoy the thermal pools.

They no longer offer power free sites. That seems wrong when so many of us are moving to being independent of plugging in. They actually have turned a bitumen carpark into a camping space. There were dirty tissues floating in the hot pool. On the positive side they offered me a refund when I went to the office. It's always disappointing when one of your favourite places puts money above their clientele. I won't be going back.

I love the customer service here. The team, so far, as gone out of their way to accommodate us at short notice, whether we wanted to extend our stay in our cabin at short notice or drop in at short notice. If you ever have trouble finding availability online, try calling them up and see if they can reshuffle things around on their end, to accommodate you. Totally love spending time in the thermal pool! They also have a bonus special where you stay for a week and pay for 6 days!!

Gwydir Thermal Pools are a Mecca for grey nomads, and other travellers too.
After a long hot drive, nothing feels better than a relaxing spa or swim in the warm thermal pools, from 37 to 40 degrees.
I have visited thermal springs around the world, and these compare favourably, with paved circular and rectangular pools, spa jets and seating. This motel's second campus has a large indoor pool, with fountains for shoulder massage, and saunas too.
Spotless cabins and friendly staff.
