Great views of Lake Macquarie from all areas indoor and out which contribute to a good dining experience. The service is prompt, efficient and staff are very friendly and polite. The menu contains the standard offerings but also a few surprises - like the Spicy Noodles with chicken. Highly recommend this dish.

There was a displayed time wait for food when ordering. Which is to be expected as this summer promotion of half priced meals is running.

We waited 30 minutes and our food arrived on time and was hot. The chips with the burger were perfectly cooked. The linguini was spot-on even with the request of no garlic. The pastry on the pot pie was just right - east to cut and eat. The spicy noodles were fabulous. Spicy but not intolerable. All meals were fantastic and highly satisfying.

This place is definitely worthy of look if you’ve never been before. And I guarantee you will return - time after time.

We stopped at Gunyah Hotel on the way home from Qld. The room was surprisingly big and great for the family, perfect if you need a place to stay to break up a long drive.
Food was delicious and the location is beautiful. Great value for money. Also the service was above and beyond. I left some items behind and they were mailed to me promptly. Just a great experience!

I just went on a discovery trip of my area.
I have not been to this hotel for years.
It is beautiful, has a huge restaurant and some great view. Only walking distance from shops and the most stunning part of lake Macquarie

We went here for dinner which had been the first time for a while. The meals where well priced but I found a feather in my salad. If it had been handled better I wouldn't be writing this.

I showed them and asked for a refund as my daughter and partner wouldn't eat there meals after seeing it. Instead of a refund they gave me a meal voucher which didn't even cover the cost of the meal. I wont be going back after this. It's not like it was a little feather either. It was under the salad.

Im still debating if I should call the NSW Food Authority or not as this is disgusting

Just dropped in on spec on Monday and was treated to a lovely experience. Unbeknownst to us, Monday is half price for anything on the menu. We got the seafood tasting plate and wow. Fresh prawns, Japanese scallops, calamari, dusted prawns, battered fish and a piece of grilled Barramundi. This was all complimented with some amazing sauces, jacket potatoes done in a beetroot onion, and a salad. Yes it was 3.30 on Monday, so there wasn’t many people in, but we will be back as the service and view were great.

Unfortunately a poor review. Stayed in room 4 which was over priced as it was a public holiday. Travelled from Nowra. Friendly staff when we arrived then went to our room (4) to find the toilet wasn’t attached to the floor, mould all around the shower recess and around the ceiling fan. Toilet brush was encased in dust and the draw on the side table was on the floor and the air con was set to 17 degrees. Spoke to the duty manager Terry who assured me I would be contacted to discuss by Tuesday as he said he would escalate the issue which wasn’t so I called to follow up. I was told that the next time we were there we could see him and have a free drink. I found this appalling and offensive. I have been a travelling salesman for 20+ years and spent a lot of time in hotels and unfortunately this is in my top 3 of the worst. I have photos to back this.
Unfortunately there was no compensation in this case which I can’t understand how a large Hospitality company can let this happen. 😠

I do not recommend going to the Gunyah for their new half price Mondays. It’s so busy the staff don’t know what is going on. We were told food was a 45 minute wait which is fine when it’s super busy but in that 45 mins the staff came to our table on 3 separate occasions to confirm our orders. When it got to 1 hour and 10 mins and 3 tables who ordered after us had been served I questioned the kitchen. The chef who was very rude said “it was an hour wait” I told him we were told 45 mins and it had been 1 hour and 10 mins. To which he replied it’s being plated now. 10 more mins later and 6 other meals came out prior to ours. Finally after 1 hour and 25 mins we were served. No apology for the late food at all. And as we left our group was given the dirtiest look by the manager on duty. Terrible service and horrible experience. We should’ve been offered a refund but we weren’t even offered an apology. Very very disappointed
