Sue and Sean were extremely attentive without being intrusive. They went out of their way to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. The location is very relaxing and only a short distance from town, though having your own vehicle is necessary. This place is great value for money when compared to options in Darwin and is a much nicer, more homely experience. The breakfast included a lovely fruit platter, cereal, toast, pastries, tea and coffee and enough to more than satisfy even our large appetites! A relaxed place to stay - can whole-heartedly recommend to all.

The wife and I recently stayed at Grugle Downs for a 4 night get away. Best place to stay in Darwin if you want to be a short easy drive away from the expensive concrete city hotels. The accomodation is on a large property with that tropical feel, great swimming pool and BBQ for guests to use. There is a private cottage and also rooms in the house. We stayed in the house which was clean and comfortable. Green Tree Frogs in the toilet come free too! A tropical breakfast was included with the portion big enough to keep us munching all day. As soon as we arrived the owners were there to greet us and to explain everything. Nothing was too much trouble (we were told off for buying our own mozzie repellant, we only had to ask), that's the sort of place you would be staying at. We loved it!

My wife and I went to Darwin for a holiday with her sister and husband. We picked Grungle Downs on the recommendations from this website. The ratings were spot on. We stayed in the lodge and were treated like family. Christie and Paul made such wonderful suggestions on things to see and do in Darwin that we changed our plans, for the better we felt.||||The grounds were awesome and the poolside very relaxing. My sister-in-law called it a vortex of peace and tranquility. The beds were very comfortable and all the facilities very clean. Christie kept the fridge stocked with wonderful fresh fruit and other foods. ||||We only stayed four days in Darwin on a whirlwind tour of Australia for the in-laws, but wish we would have stayed much longer there and cut out some of the other places we went.||||Christie and Paul know how to make you feel at home.

I recently spent 4 nights at Grungle Downs and really appreciated the small touches- the loan of a pool towel and "take away" breakfast for a Litchfield trip, cushion for the deckchair cinema and constant supply of filtered and chilled water (if you have tasted Darwin water you will know why this is important). As stated by another reviewer, Sue was attentive without being intrusive and made some great suggestions for things to do and see. You do need a car to stay here, but Darwin is easy to get around. I stayed in the room with the ensuite which worked really well for me.

Sue and Sean made our first trip to Darwin and my birthday away, a very memorable one. We really appreciated the little touches - providing detailed instructions on how to get to the property beforehand; waiting for us, helping with the bags and calling up a restaurant so that we could have a late meal, the night we arrived; lovely fruit platters, croissants and raisin bread, daily; recommendations on things to see and do; Sean seeing us off the morning we left even though it was 6am! We were made very welcome, had a lovely, relaxing time there and enjoyed chatting with both our hosts and other guests who were there. We had the room with an ensuite and its own access although we used the main entrance when we were there. Having own transport is recommended. I have been telling relatives and friends about this little gem.

We stayed in this fabulous B&B last week. And I must say Sean and Sue has quite on numerous times tried to go out of the way to make our stay very comfortable. It's pretty unfortunate we did not manage to drive for this trip and Sue and Sean has make arrangement to bring us to the supermarket to stock up food for our meals. If you can name it, Sue and Sean will certainly try to help you. ||||I liked the cosiness of the lodging, the spacious gardens which especially fascinates me which is not common in my land scarce home land. It is a serene place which I like very much and it is next door to crocodylus park which you must visit.||||Koh
