We have here quite a number of times, they serve really good coffee and also delicious Cafe food...esp the bacon and egg roll, the eggs are always on point, mushroom pie and various types of savoury tart/quiche.

There is a special joy of a perfect bacon and egg roll.

Thinking nothing of it, after a stop at the post office next door I figured I'd grab a quick coffee and bite to eat on my way back home, so I whipped into Grumpy Chef.

Service was friendly, the wait for my food short. And the sandwich, my God, the sandwich.

Just perfection.

While it may seem like an easy meal, it made my day. I'll definitely be back for another sandwich - and even if it's not perfect, I'm sure it'll be great.

I absolutely love the Grumpy Chef. It is a weekend ritual treat after walking the dog down the beach or having a surf. I love the Anzac cookies with my coffee. Everything I have had to eat and drink is prepared and made so well. Thanks to the Grumpy staff.

Stars for lovely coffee, food and staff. No stars to the same group of 5-6 that monopolise the cafe every Sunday morning. Sit one to a table (small cafe, 6 tables) and talk across the cafe to each other. Six tables taken for around an hour, usually only a coffee each, and everyone else left no choice but takeaway.

I came across the cafe by accident and in a hurry to return to Sydney, so I ordered some food and coffees for takeaway. I had a sense of déjà vu when I saw one of the staff and tasted the bean and sweet corn burrito. All felt so familiar. Did a former cafe in Waverley 2024 (Cuppa Cafe?) relocate to become the Grumpy Chef in Woonona? ?

Friendly service, lovely people, great bacon and egg roll... Dirty chai latte tasted like chai tea with a shot of coffee, it was pretty horrible and the spinach & haloumi tart was very soggy and didn't actually have haloumi in it...
