We loved their tea pot and the cafe feels warm and cosy. The owner was lovely and their service was great. As busy as they were, the wait was not that long. The Chief never stopped moving, he was efficient and served up fresh and delicious meals. I loved the brick wall, inventive and unique. A great cafe for a satisfying breakfast.

The food and coffee was amazing. Loved the cosy atmosphere. Service was reasonably good considering we came in for breakfast on Father's Day. Just didn't like the fact that a tip was automatically built into my bill. We used the QR code on the table to order our food and drinks and it had an inbuilt 5% tip which I tried hard to get rid of but could not. I don't believe in tipping. Employees in Australia get paid enough. If you're having difficulty financing your cafe maybe increase your prices a little but or just give your employees a pay rise if the tips are going directly to them. Or just not have it be inbuilt when paying via QR code. Thanks

I always love going to Ground up! Great vibes, amazing coffee and wonderful service! And if wanting a healthy but delicious lunch - I highly recommend the breadless bowl with some smoked salmon!

Great Laneway cafe. Best espresso coffees I ever had and have options of filter coffee as well. Great food, I tried shakshouka, looks so good and taste so good. Recommended to everyone. Now my favourite cafe in town.

Extensive and very varied menu. Excellent and friendly service. Great coffee.
Our return visit in September 2021 was also a great experience. Such an exciting and innovative breakfast menu.
Expect to line up for a table during busy times. But well worth the wait.

Really lovely food and coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. They regularly update the menu and add more delicious options which is great. Staff are sometimes friendly, depends on who you get.
Since this place has grown over the past 10+years it's lost a bit of its friendly charm.
It's still a nice 'go to' option but it would be nice if the people and the quality of coffee were more consistent.
