A modern underground library with cozy spots for reading. Their height-adjustable desks are also comfy for study or work. There’s also a nice open space so it’s just few steps away to get the fresh air after hours of reading, studying, or working. The staff is friendly too!

Very comfy area. Really helpful staffs. I've been using the PC for some work but unware that all files would be deleted automatically whenever the PC has been locked (even I didn't log out yet). Just need to be careful next time. Overall all good. Amazing library with greenery and infrastructure.

MY FAVOURITE LIBRARY GOVERNED BY THE CITY OF SYDNEY COUNCIL OR POSSIBLY EVEN SYDNEY AS A WHOLE! So unique...green ? and always packed! Coolest architecture being underground , layout and features eg furniture and book collection to choose from , clean + sweet smelling toilets, abundant facilities and always something new to discover (and even keep eg always find a goodie in the Free Book section).
Also a short walk from the train station plus eateries and there's even their own cafe/bar at the landing of the stairs when you enter the Library! Cosy and Sunny I swear no matter the time of year/season!

TOP TIP: Come on a Saturday (as I did today) where I unexpectedly ran into some great food markets! They could be a weekly or at least monthly/some other frequent event so keep your eyes peeled for it!!!

I visited Green Square Library for the first time yesterday, Tues. October 1st, 2024. I found the design to be amazing. I love how bright and airy it is, considering it's underground - all thanks to the enormous glass roof and walls up top. I was really looking forward to trying out the cafe, but it was closed, so I decided to skip my coffee and check out the library itself. While I think that the desks and seating for study/work is a great idea, it takes away room for the most important aspect of a library - books.
As an avid reader, I send a lot of time in libraries, and was really looking forward to seeing what books I could find there that weren't at every other local library. But the amount of books that WEREN'T either A: Reference books,
Or B: Written in Chinese, were extremely lacking. This library has been made to mainly cater to International students, and other students of the University. The rest of the public seem to have been an afterthought.
I'll stick with using Mascot Library. It may be tiny compared to this library, but it has a massive assortment of books catering to everyone.
Such a shame! I had very high expectations for this library, only to be terribly disappointed.

It's a really stunning library with a decent amount of space. But if you're planning on coming here to get work done, I'd strongly suggest bringing headphones. There's a children's section on one side of the library and you can hear the kids even from the opposite side of the library where it's a bit quieter.

A stunning medium-sized library catering well to all audiences. There's a cafe on ground level but the library itself is kind of underground - but still with plenty of natural light. A highlight is a suspended small aircraft. Couldn't ask for a better place for a work or a study session!

Lovely library, neat and well presented shelves, easy to look for books. Lots of space to sit, fantastic decorations, pretty chill to read and work. Lacking in English Classic books but I don't really mind that. The children section bother me so much as they were packed and noisy, the parents did not even bother and I had to stood up and tell them to keep it down, not much help tho. Otherwise, the staff were extraordinary, attentive, professional and extremely helpful.
