We’ve stayed here a number of times on trips to Townsville and always found it very convivial. Staff are friendly and professional. The one bed premium apartments have a great outlook and are roomy, with a comfy king bed and a TV in both the lounge and bedroom. Well equipped bathroom including washer and drier. Secure undercover parking is available for an additional charge. There are many good restaurants around the hotel and it’s close to the Magnetic Island car ferry terminal if you want a great day across on the island.

Our experience at the Hotel was absolutely amazing, the room was clean and tidy, all the facilities were great. The only thing that we were disappointed with was that we were not informed about having to book a car park space and also that there was a fee. There is signage in the elevators stating free gated off street parking yet we were charged $25 and an additional $100 deposit.

We’ve had the pleasure of staying in the Grand Hotel here in Townsville for a few weeks now, I emphasise the word ‘pleasure’, our rooms are very clean and kept to a high standard, the beds are super comfy too and the facilities such as the jacuzzi/pool/gym are great! Big hit from all the family 🙂
The staff are fantastic, always smiling and going above and beyond to help where they can, I recently had the help from ‘Ros’, whilst balancing serving other guests with a genuine smile, she was able to print an important document for me and assisted in the completion of it without question. Superstar! Thanks Ros!
In a nutshell, if you need a perfectly located room or apartment with the best Staff then book yourself a room!

Amazing location, staff were so friendly and rooms were extremely clean. Forever grateful for the extra mile the staff took to make our stay enjoyable and their compassion for us staying an extra night due to health reason filled my heart. Thankyou for a great experience I will definitely be back.

I stayed here for a month for a work stint and was absolutely blown away with the service. I had been staying elsewhere a couple weeks prior, and had some groceries I was hoping to refrigerate as I couldn't check in earlier, and Lorraine at the front desk accommodated for this request! She also managed to get the room ready earlier for me, and set my groceries inside the fridge/freezer/countertop before I checked in.

The rooms are clean and are also serviced daily, however, they do donate $1 to charity for each day your room isn't. Facilities are handy, and there's also a pool, spa and gym for your comfort. Cherry on top is how central it is to everything!

I'll definitely come back on my next stay - could not speak more highly of the service here 🙂

The room was fine and in a great location HOWEVER if you stay in the side above the steak restaurant below (Palmer st side) smoke will fill your room and the hallways while the restaurant is cooking below, Staff is well aware of this and know there is a problem but offered us a pedestal fan to try and blow the smoke out !!!! Seriously

Just get the damn problem fixed properly

Luckily we were out at a concert until late so when we came back the room had cleared (still smelt like steak & smoke so lucky we were not Vegan ?)
There is no way you could have stayed in there during that time and the place was fully booked
Other than that it was fine

Last week my partner and I stayed at The Grand Hotel in Townsville, greeted by Lorraine and team, where we were offered VIP parking with a wonderful service throughout our stay. Will definitely be back again!

Outdated rooms, needing upgrading, TV is not a smart tv and cannot cast your device to it. Can watch tv or the hotel free movie channels only, which also involves purchasing movies from them. Can hear people In rooms above you walking around and moving furniture, so disruptive when a person above my room sounded like they were doing laps of the room at 2am. This was a major disturbance to my stay with the noise coming through the ceiling from rooms above. Chairs in room for tables are so outdated and uncomfortable and I wouldn't even buy them from an op shop. Large lounge area with one 2 seater lounge and could do with a single-seater lounge chair for guests. Advertised clock radio near bed which their wasn't any their. Was upgraded to a room with kitchenette with a microwave that didn't function correctly and when reported to staff they come to check it and didn't know what to do either so told me to just turn it on this way which did work but still couldnt select a time and push start. Nothing more was done to replace that microwave, and I stayed there for two weeks. This was first time I stayed their and I won't be going back.
