Sunday 12:15pm. we chose the Grand hotel to have lunch . We got a drink ( i asked for a lemon lime n bitters - they forgot to add the bitters) and read the menu. We chose what we were having for lunch i went to place the order and was asked by the girl did i have a reservation. No i said. Then was told "we are not taking walk ins ". I said we have a table to which she said" it has to do with getting meal to everyone and if they took walk in no one would eat."
Fine - we left and went to Apple Tree creek hotel which had no problem with a "walk in" . Lunch was amazing.
1 star star because i cant give you none.

It's worth 10 stars but Google only allows 5. This is a stand-out pub! The food is fresh & delicious & the meal sizes are HUGE with great prices. Good old fashioned friendly service, whereby even the Chef comes out and asks the patrons if they're enjoying their meals (some thing you rarely ever see now days). This is the type of pub that you specifically drive to for an amazing meal with top service!

Made a booking for 15 people for a work Christmas party. Went early to decorate the room and found the staff had already done it (far nicer than we would have done too). We all had the best night, staff were very friendly and accommodating and made us feel welcome. Food was amazing, and everyone loved their meals. Three of us tried the Mongral Menu (2 winners, 1 loser). It's the 3rd time I've been to this hotel and happy to drive the 1hr from my home each time. Well done to staff and a big thank you for your hospitality and setting up the room for us they way you did. It was greatly appreciated.

Just had lunch at this great pub. Friendly service, great food and reasonably priced. If you are in Childers, go here for a meal.

The food was disappointing and didn’t meet expectations. The seafood basket tasted like it came straight from a frozen bag, and the quinoa salad was soggy with almost no dressing or flavour. The pizza lacked flavour as well, and the crust was stale. For the price, I expected much better quality. It felt like the kitchen was inexperienced, although the staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn’t want to complain since they seemed very busy.

Our local pub, went out for tea as we Normally do , went to order and was refused service as "we were a walk in" we have been eating there for years and how ridiculous is that. Sorry childers that is just rude and stupid. It wasn't even late well before 7pm.
Sorry won't ever be back . What about people travelling and want food, you might get a room but they won't feed you.

Had my birthday lunch here and even though they were busy they could not have done more for us. Decorated table, added candles to cake and brought it in singing, great service. Thanks

Cold/overcooked steak. Cold chips.. we were the only people in there on a Wednesday at 6pm. Very average... wish I'd had Chineese, pizza or gone to the other pub across the street... mid at best....
