Good: pork noodles (flavourful broth, generous portion), sticky rice (nice savoury flavour running through and meat is seasoned well).
Below average: soy milk (there is a freshness but not enough soy flavour running through, probably a bit watered down), pork and prawn dumpling (dense meat puck, too salty).

Overall a good experience but need to know what to order.

I have a craving for Yong Tau Foo and decided to check out this place. Added extra portions of noodles. Paid $26.90 for 6 pieces, including cold soya bean drink. The fish paste in the YTF lacks flavour (reported by others, too), but they fried certain pieces of YTF. It makes them crunchy to bite. The dark soy sauce is not too salty. I like the generous serves of condiments that you can help yourself to. The seating arrangement is more spacious than Asian Grain BBQ. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes.

Mar 2025: I tried the pork offals noodle soup, paid $17.90. I have my reservations initially after reading some negative reviews. The portion was huge. The servings of pork offals were generous. However, I wished that they could have been cut in smaller pieces. The pork slices and pork balls were the best. The intestine was a bit rubbery. One piece of kidney was not cleaned well. The broth was absolutely delicious. The pork lard absolutely lifted the taste. Overall, I think I will go for the pork slices and balls the next time. The offals are not as nice as those offered at the Malay Kitchen.

Had the best meal, laksa and noodles. Wow both were amazing. It’s a busy asian resturant, there are no airs and graces, it’s a gem. I’ll be back.

I had a craving for a warm Asian dish for my breakfast after working a night shift. They have breakfast sets and I had one with rice porridge with chicken and sticky rice with chicken. The warm milk tea was included. The price was reasonable. My hubby and I shared! Not a greatly friendly place but basic customer service. The place is located in the middle of the shopping centre, so not a cozy place for breakfast or brunch. 🙂 Parking is easy- Box Hill Central does not offer free parking but cheap. Moreover, all the dishes were not salty! I enjoyed it a lot.

Few years back we were here to have their popular pork noodle - dry or soup. Then, we got to know the chef left and started the Mr Tall pork noodle shop. Ever since we have not been eating here.

Today we are back cos a friend of ours told us the pork noodle is good (again) so we decided to give a try.

Service & Ambience [3]. It used to have queue and waiting for available tables. This time we saw many free tables so no wait. Ordering is at the counter and get the number. Nothing fancy hence average rating.

Food [3]. Ok starts with the good. We like the soup, thick flavour and nice. The no good. The ingredients is so little (see picture). The sauce for the dry noodle is not their best. We prefer Mr Tall dry noodle and the sauce.

Verdict - sorry we won't be back for their pork noodle but and maybe other food.

Fish ball noodle. The fish balls had no taste at all. The only taste is in the broth which they put in the soup. The price (with the after 5pm discount) is reasonable for the size of this fishball noodle.

Was charged $18.50 for 6 chicken ribs on rice.
Ribs were so small, not worth the money. Quality gone down massively. Will never return, rather eat somewhere else
