As a wedding photographer, this wedding at Gorman Art Centre was simply incredible! It's not every day I can visit a creative space made for arts and music, and even rarely can I shoot weddings at venues like this. So when I was given this opportunity, I took it immediately!

This place is mainly for the artsy crowd and performances, but holding a wedding here didn't feel out of place. My clients booked the entire courtyard and had a fantastic outdoor ceremony! The wide garden area and magnificent hawthorn tree provided us with an event space that needed little to set up. I can't recommend the Gorman Arts Centre enough!

Gorman Arts Centre is a fantastic place for a winter wedding. The staff are excellent especially Jenni from the Wedding and Events Office. Liesl & Hans were a couple I was the photographer for, and they had excellent communication and responses with the team and even managed to get a map ahead of their ceremony. This allowed for the couple for to be able to establish the best place for guests to sit, set up their musician, signing table and screen for guests to view from around the world. This also helped with being able to plan for best lighting and camera angles during COVID lockdown.

My husband and I got married at Ainslie & Gorman in the courtyard under the Hawthorne tree last month and it was absolutely beautiful. Our wedding was Covid affected and Jenni (the coordinator we corresponded with via email) was so wonderful every step of the way - responsive, helpful and compassionate.

The courtyard was lovely and well kept, and Talisha (the coordinator on the day) was lovely and kept me calm before the ceremony, which I was very grateful for. I love that we can go to Sage Restaurant for our anniversary and look out at the spot where we married, and trust that the courtyard will be beautiful for years to come. Thanks so much Ainslie & Gorman!

Gorman Arts Centre is home to so many of Canberra’s key arts organisations. There is always so much going on at Gorman and a great amount of support for Canberra’s artists and creative professionals.

This is a beautiful venue and a choice location for weddings, small festivals and conferences.

It has several artist studios, of which many of Canberra’s most prolific artists are residents.

It’s always worth checking out what’s happening at Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres 👍🏻
