Fantastic!
I am a tour coach driver and have stayed in many places of accommodation and can say that gold creek is the best whilst in Canberra.
Steve and his wife are so friendly and helpful. The rooms were great. And food was excellent.
The students, teachers and myself had a great experience.
they are in the process of updating their rooms so can't wait for a great place to be even better. AAA+

Amazing location for my bride last Saturday to get ready,
Staff were great and friendly and helped all guests with their needs. Loved how great they were to the teachers with the children... Nothing was too hard. Go team.
Highly recommend to all my brides that need a venue to get ready.

Note: This is my experience from a a school camp excursion.
Room: The bed sheetswere clean, but in my opinion, they were slightly moist. The bed was mildly uncomfortable, and was uneven with lumps. The bathroom mouldy. The walls had areas of dirt and mould, especially present around windowsills. There was a fridge, which was appreciated.

Food: The food was alright. For dinner, they had multiple options- Lasagne, with was decent, chicken nuggets, good, and salad, which looked alright. There was cordial and jelly for desert. No one had gotten sick from the food.

Service: The kitchen/food staff were very friendly and patient!

Value for money.
Great friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms. A short drive to most of Canberra's attractions and businesses.
I stay on a regular basis for work and love being away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
Plenty of places to eat or drink nearby.
You get what you pay for but Gold Creek represents exceptional value.

This place gets a bad wrap, but it isn't that bad. |I stayed here on a school trip and was in one of the second floor dorms. |The food could have been better but was pretty good and lovely staff helped us out. My bed creaked a little bit and there wasn't a fly screen on my window, but overall I had a great stay. There was clean sheets, clean floors, locking doors, a working aircon and a working shower. I loved my trip to Gold Creek Tourist Resort!

Great location, Lovely staff. Very Clean & Big Spacious Rooms. Big TV & Air Conditioned. They have a Pool & also have Spa rooms. I've always enjoyed my time here. Have been here many times over the years. It's close to Cafes & lots of Shops. It's also very affordable. It's close to all amenities. Highly recommended.

I went here a few days ago on school camp. Horrible place. Me and my friends were greeted with a disgusting smell as if a corpse has been living in the room. The shower was jammed and required more than 3 teachers to get the shower even on. The windows were covered with rust and cobwebs corner the walls and desk, not to mention the spiders hovering over the beds and the cracks in the roof. On the mattress support beams, you were very much welcomed with a bunch of inappropriate comments and drawings. These comments were as bad as “Kill yourself” . Blankets were stuffed into the wardrobe, and my friends and I came to a conclusion that they weren’t even washed before we checked into the room. The pillows were somewhat damp and the mattress was lumpy and very much uncomfortable. The lights turned off randomly and flickered throughout the night. I didn’t shower myself, but my friends said that the water was disgusting and dirty, the cold and hot water weighing poorly while showering. We first walked into dinner and it was quite beautiful suprising me dearly. Fairy lights decorated the roof and some white sheet hung on the ceiling, cordial and water was server into a jar on the table. My friends claimed the cordial tasted pretty good, but I absolutely hated it. We were served nuggets, salads, and sausages. Nuggets tasted stale, and I mistaked salad dressing for gravy so the food tasted even worse than what it was already. The only thing that tasted great was the garlic bread, so I mainly ate that as my whole meal, in the total of 7 pieces. Customer service was poorly handled, while the staff had such short tempers and easily got angered over questions. Overall, this place was atrocious, I had a horrible experience and the reason why I gave a two was because once I got settled into the room, it was actually alright. The only fun in this place I had was because of my friends, otherwise, I would’ve been disgusted and rather sleep outside. An alright stop for people if you don’t care about hygiene, but this place was just really dirty. If your already planned for a trip here, all I have to say is I’m sorry.

Smelt like it had never been cleaned. Sheets dirty and not changed.....found one bed tgat had fresh sheets. Air con stank. Shower was leaking and full of mould. How this place is allowed to stay open is beyond me. I would not be paid to stay here. Yet they charge the same as the nice hotels only five minutes away. Absolutely an insult to anyone who pays money for here. I've stayed previously and the whole place is just disgusting. It's a health hazard.
