Hate having to leave a bad review but unfortunately the business has not bothered to assist at all so it is what it is.

I own a store in the centre and have been getting coffee from this gloria jeans for years. Ive always the service and team to be polite and helpful and enjoy the coffee so have always gone back.

On my last visit I popped in around 3pm to have a quick coffee and snack break while at work. I could see they were cleaning up and did ask if they closed but was assured they were still serving. I ordered a coffee and a toastie and was told the machine for toasties was turned so quickly changed my order to a slice.

I was handed the slice in a brown paper and bit into it without thinking only to find that it was frozen rock solid. Unfortunately i have permanent retainer wires on the back of my teeth which were bent and partially snapped off as soon as I bit into the slice. It was painful and uncomfortable. I had to quickly organise someone to watch my store and run across to the dentist to have it repaired before causing further damage and was left with a few hundred dollar dental bill.

I went back to the cafe after seeing the dentist and explained what had happened. If i'd received a genuine apology, I would have left it at that however both the team member who served me and the owner barely made any effort to apologise and instead smirked at each other as I walked away. I asked what solutions could be offered and even suggested a credit for coffees for the amount of the dental bill (which is obviously far less cost for them than reimbursing the bill). I followed up twice, provided my contact details, they know where I work in the centre but haven't even remotely bothered to contact me or offer any sort of solution. I'm not surprised after reading other reviews here!

In good news though, I now buy my coffee from The Green Room cafe further down, coffee is delicious, the team members are attentive! Head there if you want to good service and coffee while avoiding a dental injury!

Great coffee but the girls there probably need replacing, MOST are very stuck up and rude! Also seen similar remarks in other reviews. Pay attention to who your putting on!!

Service is terrible. Ordered one drink. There was one staff member serving and the rest were all standing around and chatting while the one staff member who was incredibly slow (she may be new so I initially felt sorry for her) it took about half an hour to get my order. She asked me if I wanted whipped cream which I had already told them I did not, and the proceeded to throw it on the counter and say "there it is" in a very snarly voice and wouldnt even look at me, she was incredibly rude. When I tasted it, I noticed it had caramel in the drink which I didn't order.

Customer service is at its worst On Wednesday, October 4th, at the Gloria Jean Maitland. I ordered beverages and foods worth more than $30. When I asked for a replacement straw, the girl refused, claiming that "straws cost money," despite the fact that one of our children drinks with a melting paper straw. She was adamant that each paper straw would cost 30 cents. Even though I do not mind paying for the straw, this level of customer service is unacceptable for someone working in food retail. I was so disappointed that I had to tap an EFPOST card for 30 cents to get a paper straw. I received better service at many others Gloria Jean cafe. They always have a positive attitude when serving customers even when request that extra items. The management at Maitland should address these concerns before the no customer returning and everyone seems to give bad review at this cafe.

Slow as a wet week!!! 5 staff on, one on her phone and one blowing her nose and not washing hands afterwards and then still waited 30 mins for one coffee and one milkshake. Not good enough guys.

We placed an order for 3 drinks. They are pretty expensive already. One was for a milk shake for my 2 year old. She takes a little longer to drink being 2. Now that they use paper straws it dissolves. I requested a second straw and was charged 30 cents. After how much we paid thats insulting. For 30 cents you lost regular customers.

Editing review as I can see the reply from them. As seeing you send the same copy and pasted response to each review. I doubt you even care about feedback. Remove the 30 charge for straws for children's drinks. That's not even what you pay. You profit off young people not drinking fast enough. What do they cost you? 3 cents?.... if that.

Absolutely shocking service, the 3 girls that were on drinks had no sense of urgency and seemed like they had no real care for the job…One was taking photos of the other while there was myself and other people still waiting and there was another one taking selfies. They called out a couple orders I then said my name because the girl looked at me like the one she just called was mine which it wasn’t, she looked up at the screen for my order then her and another girl looked at each other dumb and asked each other if they’d made it, both said no I haven’t made it to each other then laughed about it…I did not receive an apology for wait or for there stuff up then or when I eventually after another 10 minutes received my ice coffee. I will not be returning. I haven’t had such poor service in anywhere in long time.
