The gypsy Caravan is located on a property with accomodation, restaurant's and conference facilities. The whole property is in a state of disrepair and looks as though it hasn’t been cared for in a decade. We were initially intrigued by the Apricot Interpretation Center on the sign? ||||I met the host at reception. She seemed “distracted” at best. We were shown the Gypsy Caravan a short distance from the main building. As we were booking during the Christmas peak period, we would have not have stayed if there were ANY OTHER alternatives. ||||The whole place has the air of a cult compound. ||||Peeling paint, cobwebs, stinking toilet (and shower in one TINY space). An overall feeling that everything was unclean. A shower that was either boiling hot or frigid cold and didn’t drain, ever. The whole Caravan was propped up on bricks and required a severe lean to the left make it to the bed. ||||We used our own pillows for fear of lice. ||||We ventured out to the restaurant only once, in search of a place to sit and read and left soon after. The restaurant was dark, dingy and scary. My cult suspicions were confirmed by the pile of Christian brochures at the restaurant. ||||We felt like we would be safer in a manger. ||||In the end, it’s dirty and weird.
