What can I say about the Geckos Rest Fabulous!! It’s a safe, clean environment and the team there are passionate and it feels like home.
I was lucky to stay with some other amazing backpackers and they also have rooms with single and double beds.
Excellent my kitchen facilities with I believe 4 separate burners and sinks.
They also have a stunning chill out room and the games room downstairs is excellent with a cool pool table and dart board, couches and a television.

I'm sorry but the hostel smelt like urine and was quite dirty so I didn't stay I got a refund which was very nice of the lady at the desk. No car parking available at all only on busy roads. Didn't feel safe

It's an old a non looked after building. Receptionists are lovely and were very helpful. The place have a lot of potential but it looks old and it's dirty and broken. The are carpets everywhere, that's dirty and makes it more difficult to move luggage. There are only upstairs rooms, what makes it difficult with luggage. The lighting is everywhere to low, even in the bathroom where there are no towels or paper to dry your hands. Location is good. Smell in the room not nice and no windows. The kitchen is always quiet dirty, and the terrace is old, dirty, disorganised and there's no nice view to anywhere, just other ceilings.

I really liked this place, the receptionist was so nice and always open for a talk. The location is really great, not too far from the beach, very close to shopping mall. The room was clean and had a big comfy bed, with a small fridge and Aircon, nice. Hostel was really quiet at this time of the year I guess, not many guest's so we could relax a bit. Great place, only thing was the oven didn't work but that was OK, we just microwaved our pizza 😉

Very clean, nice location but What I Love the most is the welcoming. The lady at reception was lovely. The only bad thing I can say is that I could hear the bar from downstairs on Saturday night but if you come during the week, should be fine

Stayed here twice in 2015 in a private room. The indoor and outdoor communal areas are great. Staff was helpful, room was clean and also had a small fridge for private use. Amenities were good and bathrooms clean. Kitchen area is huge with several large fridges for food storage.||I notice that several persons have left negative feedback, which is really unfortunate. To those I would suggest staying at one of the large chain soulless hotels in town, at 5 times the price. ||Several longer term residents here, and I found that they were all quite social.||I enjoyed my 2 stays here and would recommend Gecko's. The resident's age group varied from 18 - 50's which made it quite interesting.||The location of the hostel provides quick and easy access to restaurants, pubs, movies, supermarkets and coffee shops.||The open air rooftop communal area was my favorite hangout and a nice quiet spot for reading.

Felt super sketchy as a woman by myself. Do not come here alone ladies. Super dark hallways, no windows in rooms, kitchen has barely any pots, pans or cutlery and the stove takes 10 minutes to heat up enough to just fry an egg so i had to pretend to be on my phone to avoid the creepy men lingering in the kitchen while i waited. The carpet in the room was either super dusty or moldy causr I kept sneezing. The hot water kept abruptly shutting off while i was showering. At night you can feel the base from the music from the club down the street. So loud. Worst night in a hostel i have experienced. Not worth the money

Although service and communication was great, the 4 bed dorm room was utterly disgusting. Dead bugs, a substance which looked to be blood on the wall, broken fly screen, lack of powerpoints, bed sheets covered in hair and insects throughout the room and bedding. Felt very uncomfortable, bathroom stunk and the shower was also bug-ridden and hadn't looked like it had been cleaned in a while. The floor and windowsills were also filthy, wouldn't recommend walking barefoot anywhere! The back door was left open overnight and as a result both cockroaches and huge months were flying around the rooms and the bathrooms.

One of the WORST places I have ever stayed, ended up leaving at 3:30AM as I couldn't take in anymore. Would not recommend to anyone!
