Gaia is a 5*+ resort. Beautifully situated in the Byron Bay hinterland, Gaia is a tranquil haven, I enjoyed every minute of my 7 day stay. Truly delicious organic meals with knockout presentation. Wonderful spa treatments and just enough activities including yoga, meditation, HIIT, weights, stretch and cooking. We particularly enjoyed Forage with Cam. He showed us the organic gardens that produce much of the food for the kitchen, the bee hives, the chickens and the mushroom logs. Nothing is compulsory at Gaia. There is free wifi but there are technology free zones. I can’t wait to go back.

When you really need to get away from it all, Gaia Retreat & Spa is just the anecdotal remedy. The views are absolutely spectacular (they seriously don't get much better than this!)! It's the perfect mental health retreat. The spa & and massage were divine, & lunch is included in your package. It was the perfect destress, surrounded by absolute peace & quiet! You might even meet the pet Python, who loves it by the swimming pool! She'll just chill out while you're in the sauna before your dip in the pool, finished off with a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Thoroughly recommend!

Beautiful health and well-being luxury retreat in the lush Byron Bay hinterland. Stayed three nights in a Sura Terrace room. Very comfortable and nicely appointed within, with an exterior day bed in a protected alcove off the verandah and private table and chairs surrounded by greenery. The highlight here is the dining where everything is geared towards a healthy diet that is absolutely delicious. There are only options at breakfast, but for lunch and dinner you get what the chef prepares from what is available from the garden, and in season. No complaints here, as the food was outstanding and the general consensus is that the food is the highlight. There is an extensive Gaia Spa menu that is worth exploring the many options. My deep tissue massage was fantastic, and was more of a remedial massage that really worked for me.

Staff are all friendly, and a particular shout out to the housekeeping staff who are excellent, making up the room ‘immaculately’ while we were away each day at breakfast.

My general tip would be to ask a lot of questions so that you have a good understanding of what’s on offer at meal times and with activities, so that you don’t miss out on anything: albeit that most of the detail can be found in the room directory.

The grounds are really well kept and green with many areas for quiet solitude in beautiful surroundings. While it rained for our three days, it was a good healthy relaxing stay and we would have liked to enjoy Gaia in the sun-next time maybe. Thanks for a great experience!

Gaia retreat is the most wonderful gift you could possibly give to yourself. The rooms are beautiful with so much attention to detail. You are completely looked after and nurtured from the outstanding organic 5 star meals, to staff who are kind, warm, friendly, compassionate and caring. The grounds in which the retreat is on are beautiful and well maintained. You feel as though you can breathe again. Special mention to Ellmay - you are a star, and also all the other therapists who are experts in their field and wonderful people.
Thank you so much Gaia ?

This was my second visit to the retreat. Staff were excellent and were attentive. The chief cooked meals were excellent and the team cater to your dietary needs. Lots of spaces to go for a quiet walk and relax, amazing to watch the sunset going down at night as well. Spa facilities are excellent and treatments were awesome (I had a royal kahuna massage). When upon booking you need to advise them if you require a transfer from your airport - they pick up at Ballina and Gold Coast at set times and they also do transfers to the airport as well. This is included in your cost. Definitely a relaxing place to be, also good to note that you can have tea and coffee there, and in the evening you can order wine with meal etc (alcohol is a separate cost though, its not included in your package). There is activities you can do which is included at the retreat ie things like Yoga, Sound Healing, Dance class etc. The teachers are all good. The classes on offer are not mandatory if you don't feel like doing them.||Accommodation was excellent and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. They have a herbal teas and kettle in your room, with a full lemon and lime in provided as well, with a few bottles of water included in small bar fridge. As part of your retreat package you get a little gift placed on your bed, I also filled out a survey and they also provided a gift of a few little chocolates with it. Nice touchings all around the retreat of flowers, bubbling foundations and other things which is really nice. Definitely felt rested when leaving there.

This was a third time lucky visit as travel restrictions had disrupted two previous dates of my booking and it was definitely worth the wait.|| I had many telephone conversations with Reception staff and they were helpful and accommodating when I wanted to add an extra night to my booking. The individual fruit platter and tea on arrival as you check in really sets the tone for a nurturing time. ||I stayed 4 nights in a Komala Villa and it was luxurious and comfortable. ||The food is outstanding and every meal is an absolute delight of taste and presentation. My daughter had some dietary requests and everything was handled perfectly. I love how the wait staff use you name and patiently explain the ingredients each time. ||Spa time is calming and soothing and again the tea and fruit is a nice touch. All therapist are respectful and make each treatment feel special. ||The start of the week was very quiet and yoga and meditation classes were peaceful . The instructor was lovely and individualised parts of the class to the participants. ||Even though I have stayed at Gaia a number of times I had never managed to make it to a cooking class with Dan, but this time I timed it right! If you get the chance, this is a must. ||Another wonderful stay. Thank you Gaia. See you next time.
