Good food and coffee. Easy to park. Nice nearby walks along the lake. Photo from about 30m away shows the cafe’s view.

My daughter was very excited for our kayak adventure, unfortunately frothy coffee was the only option to hire a kayak from in the area. I came during opening hours in the morning , it was very quiet, there were 2 customers , the rude lady that was making coffee said that kayak hire was not operational because she was on her own with her mouth full of food, very professional. I asked when we could come back she said well at least when I’m not on my own , again very helpful and very professional . I hope someone else picks up on the business idea of kayak and boat hire in the area because this place is just disappointing especially for the beautiful area it’s in , definitely could be a lot better managed.

Note: This review automatically attracts an extra star because of the fabulous location.
We stopped in for a Sunday brunch. This area is starved for cafes and restaurants and I can tell why because it would be difficult to complete with Frothy Coffee. Literally, situated on the water, you have an uninterrupted view of Smiths Lake and access to casual hire of a boat or kayak. We shared a BLT and the bruschetta with poached eggs on sour dough with a frothy coffee and cappuccino. The venue was full (25 patrons) and we were served at our table in 10 minutes for a total price of $36.50. The only thing that could’ve been improved was the acidity in the bruschetta; a little under for my taste. If you’re holidaying or passing through, you should definitely stop in.

Excellent food, a beautiful view and welcoming staff....what more could you ask for ? Frothy coffee is the perfect spot to sit by the lake and enjoy the morning. We visited with our dog so ordered take away and sat out on the picnic area. The friendly staff were so welcoming and even bought our order out to us! The eggs benefict was amazing and the coffee was great. Will definitely be back

I have read mixed reviews of this place so decided to have a look as we were out that way. Location is beautiful sitting on the edge of Smith's lake. The service was slow considering it wasn't that busy. I had the chicken burger which was average not a lot if flavour to my taste. My wife had the veggie burger which while to her liking in taste, it dripped oil and the bun dissolved under the moiture of the oil. Top marks for the chips they were great, well cooked and crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Food and flavour are a personal taste, so go and try for yourself, hopefully your review will be more positive then ours was.

One of the little known gems of the east coast. Large covered verandah literally built into the lake edge looking out over a sand spit to the distant shore, beautiful gum trees around the cafe. Only had coffee and cake so can't say about the food. Visit Seal Rocks first if heading north, then Whoota Whoota lookout with panoramic views over Wallis Lake, then Frothy Coffee. Next on to Elizabeth beach, then the green cathedral in Booti Booti national park and then walk to top of cape hawke lookout, turnoff is just as you get to Forster.

Says it opens until 3pm, checked they were still serving lunch at precisely 2pm and she looked at the clock and said quite rudely “no”. So I went up the road to the good food store and had an amazing lunch.
