Nice looking cafe. I’m sure the coffees are nice however I did not have one. My problem is with the food. My mate and I got a beef pie and a sausage roll, both 10 dollars each and it was small. The pastry on both was full of oil and thick and crumbly, not even holding the shape of a pie. The beef inside was literally a patty (in a pie ?) and was disgusting making me feel sick. I ended up chucking half of it away.

Lovely staff, decent coffee, the worst food I’ve encountered in Sydney. See attached for $16 bacon and egg roll. Eggs undercooked (not runny, undercooked), and not as advertised ie not a roll and no chutney.

The avo toast was just as bad and drizzled in an inedible balsamic glaze. And finally, they offer toast but don’t have vegemite (!). The poor wait staff seemed embarrassed.

Avoid!

We waited 30 minutes for 2 pasta dishes, and they were equally terrible. They seemed to be microwaved as the overcooked penne pasta was falling apart. And they lacked flavour. I felt like I was eating a supermarket ready-made pasta. The ambience was good. There seemed to be lots of menus sold out for the day, I wish they told us they sold out those pasta dishes, too.

Amazing gluten free café with plenty of vegan options like veggie rolls, pies and soups plus the owner is super lovely! ?

It's great to have a café again at coal loader, especially one catering to only gluten-free diets, which maybe a boon for those with gluten intolerance or celiac disease. However, the pricing is on the higher side. Also on the weekend with an event at the Coal Loader, the café appeared very overwhelmed and underprepared. By 12:30 PM, they had sold out of everything, leaving many customers in the queue disappointed with no mention of stock running out. Additionally, there was no menu available. Hopefully, with better planning and communication, these issues will be resolved in the future unlike the earlier café.

Ordered Large takeaway flatwhite. Had to wait too long. After long wait coffee came very light. When checked was 1/2 cup. Paid for large came small in large cup. Not worth of money.

Delightful garden setting close to the water at Balls Head. The extensive offerings of delicious gluten-free food does make it difficult to choose, but nothing will disappoint. Check out the soup of the day.
