Most cabins are dark and outdated. I love the bush but the trees are overgrown right up the windows so no views of any of the stunning surrounds. Food was overpriced pub style food. Breakfast is good. Staff not particularly friendly or helpful on check in. Night staff much better. Atmosphere in the lodge was severely lacking. No activities, chess, books, and furniture and decor cheap and tired. No plants, natural features - tacky table settings and the amazing fireplace set up with a dysfunctional lounge not conducive to enjoying it with others. Family cabin has cooking facilities but nothing to cook with!!! On arrival loads of billboards trying to upsell you on everything - nothing is free - all additional. A walking nap of the area would be a basic addition. Found it poor value for money at $456/night - nothing 5 star about his place. Website only shows the Oavillion style accommodation. 90% of the cabins look nothing like the website or ads.

We had a very well-appointed Coastal Pavilion for two nights which had a stunning view over Coles Bay from a large deck area. Breakfast was very good although the overly loud and inappropriate music at 7am took the gloss off a little. The free mini bar and complimentary wine in our room was much appreciated. We had dinner in The Bay Restaurant which was excellent, see separate review. ||A few negatives:|The room would benefit from a refurbishment;|The lounge area was a little spartan and no Smart TV;|No telephone in room to call reception; and|Numerous light switches which were very confusing. You almost need a written guide. ||There did not seem to be any air conditioning. As we were there in April we didn’t really need it. However, our pavilion room has a number of large windows which on a sunny summer day would make it an uncomfortable greenhouse. ||We got an autoclub discount, but the room was still almost $900 per night. Was this good value? probably not!

We enjoyed our stay in the 'Coastal Pavilion' with striking views across the water. We saw whales, seals, dolphins and White Belly Sea Eagles during the cruise. The additional touches in the cabin were welcome, including the delicious chocolates and games. The breakfast options had 'a bit for everyone' and they catered very well for a Coeliac (many gluten free options).
Thank you for a peaceful stay!

This location was just amazing! We travelled here to experience the oyster tasting on the water! It did not disappoint. ||The rooms were our luxury! The view was outstanding and the food was another level! ||Such a serene beautiful environment. We loved exploring the grounds on the water front and the Tasmanian devil experience

We stayed in the Mountain Terrace King and by gosh it's gorgeous! It's not brand new so you can see scuff marks, wear and tear etc but given the location right inside the National Park I imagine building maintenance is hard to come by down the narrow road. |The heated flooring in the bathroom was great given the cold climate at the start of winter. The open air bathtub next to the deck was an indulgence especially with some wine! As part of our package we scored a bottle of wine, welcome chocolates and free mini-bar stocked with plenty of snacks. Food wise, we didn't expect much given the remote location but were pleasantly surprised. Common dietary markers like gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free are all listed on the menu. |The location is beautiful, with the main building right by the water. We even saw three whales in the bay over breakfast! What a treat!

Our stay at Freycinet Lodge was nothing short of magical. The property is absolutely stunning, perfectly nestled in nature with a breathtaking view over the bay. We instantly fell in love with our room surrounded by trees and serenity, with an incredible view on the bay.

The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and professional throughout our stay. The room was spotless and beautifully presented, with thoughtful amenities that went above and beyond our expectations.

The à la carte breakfast included in the stay was outstanding, both in quality and setting—enjoying such a delicious meal with that view was the perfect way to start the National Park exploration day.
No doubt one of the most enchanting spots in Tasmania. The beauty of the property truly does justice to the stunning surroundings. We can’t wait to return and we strongly recommend the property. We send a big thank you the all the staff for our lovely stay.

This is a late review we stayed at the Freycinet Lodge in Tasmania, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in a serene forest area next to a beautiful lake, the location offered a perfect escape into nature. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight was definitely the delicious à la carte food, which was a treat after a day of outdoor activities. There were plenty of bicycle rides and hiking trails around the lodge, making it an ideal spot

Freycinet Lodge is in a stunning location, with beautiful views of the bay and easy access to nearby hikes and sights. The restaurant was wonderful, offering delicious food with a view, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.||However, the family cabins were a huge letdown. They felt dusty, damp, and quite dated. Unfortunately, I had a massive allergy attack from all the dust in the bed, which really affected my experience.||I suspect most of the glowing reviews are for their modern Coastal Pavilions, which look far superior to the older cabins. If you’re considering staying here, I would strongly recommend booking one of those instead.||Overall, a mixed experience—fantastic location and restaurant, but the accommodation standard depends heavily on the room type.
