Beautiful building a location, with some beautiful artworks but lacking some information and very small. Nice to visit if you’re in the area but wouldn’t make a special trip for it

Previously used as an asylum, a hospital, a school, today the Art centre is somehow in my opinion missing the point. There are some art exhibitions but not much. Building is old and nice.

A thoroughly enjoyable visit. The Huxleys exhibit was provocative, colourful and engaging. We also enjoyed live music and a stroll around the beautiful grounds. The building itself is worth a visit. Free entry. Friendly staff. What more could you ask for?

This place brings back a lot of memories when I was a child who didn't know any better, coming here with me dad and sis. One of the expositions were of intimacy in those string neon lights. My dad quickly took me out of the gallery and I haven't been back until I was well in my 30s.

The exhibits have gone more G-rated since then, unless I missed anything. But I guess family-friendliness is always a plus. The artwork showcases a lot of local talents, especially local native talents. And I'd have to say the work here is much more vibrant and interesting than whatever they've been showing in AGWA since the first global financial crisis.

I would say that there is more variety here also, though I still prefer older works and less-woke artwork is perfectly fine. Like what happened to fruit and veg still life? Sometimes I go through the art galleries in WA and realised how much I missed that. But who am I to complain? Entry is free and it's a wicked old building to wander around.

By the way, you need to cut down your survey size. I gave up five minutes in with no end in sight.

Lovely place. Exterior is very beautiful like a piece of history in modern times. Interior was well maintained and furnished. The art show was good. Sitting at the court yard with a nice hot long back and the sun shining on your face during Spring is an amazing feeling 🙂

Lovely facilty in an old building that was an asylum and was built originally but prison convict labor. Multiple galleries. They are currently showing art from the Indian ocean rim. There was some very interesting and diverse art. Still, the galleries felt sparse. The gift shop had lovely items, but they were very pricey. There is no entry fee, and just walking the grounds is worth it. If you are nearby I would certainly recommend a visit, but we wouldn't make a special trip to the place.

Totally lovely place. Offer kids art courses and yum food. Bring extra cash for the art shop as goods are pricy.
Great space for kiss. Gallery is free. Bring your own picnic and go for a walk around the property.
Great place of peace.
