Great location for the beach, shops and restaurants. Anne Moore was a very friendly host. Great pool to relaxing in after a day out. Laundry facilities were excellent. We had a wonderful stay here over the Christmas period. Anne and Jason couldn’t have been more welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. They gave great advice on trips and booked them for us too, which avoided additional costs. Lovely clean , comfortable accommodation perfect for our needs. Well equipped apartments which allowed us to have a really comfortable stay. Great location too. Would highly recommend.

Well located a short walk to the town and 4 mile beach. Super comfy superking bed and well appointed kitchenette, living room and shower room. $4 for washing and drying in a laundry room was perfect for us on a long trip. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Recommend

We stayed at this property in Port Douglas and had an overall enjoyable experience. The location is fantastic, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable. The pool setup is beautiful and feels like a little oasis, though the water temperature was a bit too warm to fully enjoy.||||The shower pressure was excellent, and the air conditioning kept the room cool, even if it did rattle slightly. However, the property feels more like serviced apartments than a resort. There’s no housekeeping, minimal amenities (just a vending machine), and the photos on the website showing food options and other amenities were a little misleading.||||Storage was limited, with no drawers, hangers, or luggage racks, which made unpacking a bit tricky. Parking was the biggest challenge—the provided garage was often full and hard to navigate, so we ended up parking on the street a block away. Privacy in the two-bedroom unit was also a bit lacking, with slatted doors and no door on the bathroom, which might be an issue for some.||||That said, this is a charming and special place and a good value. If you’re looking for a clean, budget-friendly option in a stunning location and don’t mind a few tradeoffs, it’s definitely worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Freestyle. Our apartment on the first floor overlooked the pool. The appartment was very clean and comfortable. The pool was lovely and a good size. We also loved the closeness to town. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Freestyle Resort! We booked a 2-bedroom hotel room. The room was a duplex with 2 separate bathrooms. The rooms were really beautiful, spacious and clean and we had a nice terrace, we had everything we needed! The swimming pool was great and there were laundry facilities. The hotel is very well located, on walking distance from the city center. Anne was extremely friendly and helpful, she gave us many recommendations and advice. I definitely recommend this place! We spent 3 nights at the self-catering Freestyle Resort, which is a lovely, quiet and welcoming place to stay🤗🤗||There are a host of positives to recommend it: Anne (owner) is seemingly always there to greet (and later bid farewell to) all guests (as well as being on site for most of the day); and it's close to main eating and shopping area of Port Douglas: itself, a small and 'sleepy' area. ||In terms of our accomodation: we had a good sized lounge (INC large TV) and bedroom (safe in wardrobe - which also has the most generous amount of hangers we have seen🤗); and adjoining bathroom, with largish shower cubicle and powerful shower. There is good AC throughout the apartment, which is absolutely necessary in the sweltering heat! The kitchenette is small but workable, with electric appliances (mini dishwasher and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster); and good sized sink. The owners kindly provide 'a starter pack' (coffee, mini milk, washing liquid, etc; and guests replenish as and when. There is a handy laundry ($4) and you need washing powder (available to purchase onsite for nominal amount). Outside, we had a reasonable eating place, with table and chairs, plus 2 relaxing seats: and view of local vegetation. There is also a modest communal pool, several sunbeds and small but comfortable seating area for people (and, unfortunately, bugs alike!).||In terms of negatives: like our visit to Cairns, please expect bites, despite all our- and your precautions❗And the bites are devilishly irritating and enduring (see photos)❗Overall our room needed a bit of TLC in places (and owners are aware, from our chat). For example, a new shower tap is required, AC in bedroom controller only goes fast; towel rail needs securing; furniture is tired; bed spring is loose on one (2 single beds joined).||Overall we recommend the Freestyle Resort🤗🤗||
