Forth River Cottage is a home with a heart. The provision of thoughtful supplies is the icing on top. The kitchen was well stocked and Sally goes the extra mile to welcome us with quality bread, eggs, bacon, fruit and all the goodies that were much appreciated. The garden is spacious, with open lawn, ideal for doing Taichi in bare feet! Luckily having booked 5 nights with good weather. Will be back to stay in this stunning cottage again next year.

A charming cottage with beautiful decor and surrounds. Ultimate indulgence in luxury. Lovely connecting with nature in the outdoor bath gazing at the stars above and the trees silhouetted against the night sky.
Complimentary breakfast with fresh fruits, bread etc was delicious. Sally's warmth and hospitality exceeded our expectations without a doubt. Beautiful location, gorgeous gardens. An amazing experience. Highly recommend this exceptional holiday haven.
Bella the dog was a delight with her visits!

Absolutely heavenly. I deeply regret only staying one night. Come for the riverside tub, stay for the perfect relaxation that falls over you from the moment you arrive. The cottage is stunning with a really romantic feel. I loved meeting the horses, unwinding in the hammocks & listening to the birds & sheep chatter. The flowers, candles, books, bedding, Tassie-made products - it was all perfect. HIGHLY recommend!

Forth River Cottage was our first destination in Tasmania, and what a wonderful destination it was. Spotlessly clean goes without saying
Luxurious linens and towels, bowls brimming with fresh fruit and berries plenty of breakfast and snack options, all in a quiet spot surrounded by lovely gardens and including a deck on the edge of the river. The local pub was great, but there's a general store if you want to cook something for yourself on the bbq or stove. There's about 100 types of tea and a few types of coffee, games, novels - we could not think of a single thing that was missing. Location is within reach of day trips to Cradle mountain, Stanley, and other highlights - including a distillery in Devonport. Cosy with beautiful little decorative touches and fresh flowers - It was very hard to leave. Sally was a lovely host and her offsider Bella always made us welcome.

We had the absolute privilege of staying at Forth River Cottage to finish up our Tassie honeymoon. We were absolutely blown away by how incredible the whole experience was. It was a total 5 star experience, starting from the goodies left by the lovely Sally. We tucked in to fresh eggs laid by their chooks, herbs & veggies from the garden, & fresh local bread - amongst many other things in the very stocked cupboard. We felt so welcome & so at home, while our privacy was respected. The Cottage is right on the Forth river and very quiet. We adored the whole layout, inside and out. The bed was so beautifully comfortable, the shower pressure was strong, the towels were as fluffy as they come & all the items are high-quality, Tasmanian made - aside from the delicious Chanel perfume on the bathroom shelf. We spent hours on the hammock by the river, exploring the property & nearby area (the pub is great), & soaking up the sun on the comfortable couch right out the front. We really didn't want to leave, so much so that we extended our trip by a night just to stay longer there. While we didn't use them, there are all the entertainment amenities you need: Netflix, portable speaker, fully stocked bookcase, & board games. We instead, chose to enjoy some of the complimentary port & read the magazines in the peace & quiet. We are very grateful too, to have been allowed to bring our little dog Missy with us. She had the time of her life exploring the grounds of the property & when it was time to put her in her bed in the car, she was exhausted from all the pats & love she received from Sally & her family. We can't wait to come back & stay again. Highly recommend for a very special Tasmanian experience. <3

Luxury plus, plus ,plus.
What an absolute gem.
Sally was wonderful to deal with.
The place was exceptional. So many little luxury touches. Fresh flowers, local Tasmania produce, and fresh items from their garden. Sheridan egyptian towels, quality bedlinen. New addition was the outside bath on the deck overlooking the river. I could go on. Cannot wait for our next visit .

I so wish we could live here. We visited in September 2019 for our honeymoon. We were greeted with fresh bread, jams and a bottle of wine! The location was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful to wake at dawn to watch the passing water of River Forth (even at 5°). Cannot fault it one bit.

Had a great stay here. Such a great location and the owners made us feel really at home, even gave us tips to catch some fish! The place was beautiful and the attention to detail of things provided for our stay was outstanding. will def be back!
