Please note this is a pie review - I can't comment on other baked goods, sweets or coffee.

A very friendly lady greeted me - pie case right as you walk in. Good selection on offer, I chose a chicken & vegetable.

The pastry colour for my liking was just about perfect - nice even tan all over. A little thick in spots and a little thin in spots (note my thumb mark in the base) but that's a trivial note. What really stopped this pie from being great was the pastry tasted burnt - and I'm not sure why. I've had darker pies than this that ate well - this was somewhat acrid, like eating barbecue cooked with dirty smoke. Pastry stability fair to good.

The filling on the other hand was very good - not overly gelatinous (often an issue with chicken pies I've noticed), seasoned well with a decent amount of chicken.

If the pastry had better flavour this would have been a great product.

THE best Flour & Bean in Toowoomba!! DONNA is friendly and a breath of fresh air, always happy and welcoming, and makes THE BEST COFFEE.. so very needed for a long day at work, it starts the day off in the right way. Sonya is lovely and a great asset to the lunch van. Friendly and always smiling.
It's THE place to be, great sandwiches and rolls, really love the potato scallops too. Go on in and say hi. Grab a coffee. You won't regret it.
