Rooms very comfortable, shared space very big and clean, the fridge is very big and you can put many stuff inside, the price is very very reasonable, the team is very lovely.
The breakfast was great and verry delicious, you can found many things, particularly the waffle !
You can rent some bike, kayaks...
It's very safe for women ! All the long term people was nice.

Flashpackers hostel is cheap, central in location, safe and allows a mix of international and Aussie tourist’s to stay but it’s HOT!! ||This is the second time we’ve stayed @ Flashpackers! ||A warm and friendly welcome has always greeted us at the front door and the lovely receptionist was helpful in organising transport for us! ||However beyond the front reception area and the wonderful staff who’ve run this hostel over the years. ||Is now a very tired building….. ||It’s disappointing to see that years after our last stay the entire establishment has declined in quality and atmosphere! ||It’s disappointing that our memory of a thriving hostel is now just a quiet, unkept and unmaintained hideaway…. nestled along side the pristine coastline of Hervey Bay, the gateway to K’gari! ||We as repeat guests would love to see some life brought back into the atmosphere of this hostel (it was Saturday evening 11:00pm, the communal area was shut, not a soul in sight). ||But more importantly we would love to see a little TLC shown toward the rooms and communal areas which would otherwise make Flashpackers an upscale, upmarket hostel based in an absolute tourist mecca. ||The option to use the air conditioning at free will when NO alternate cooling option was made accessible should be a standard, as it is in any accommodation. ||The time restrictions imposed in this hostel only allowing guests to operate air-conditioning between 5:00pm-6:00am, when no fan was made available is unreasonable in an Australian summer and particularly when there are many energy efficient and cost effective ways to manage electricity consumption in this kind of business. ||We would love to return but aircon is a must! ||Thankyou

Great Hostel I recommend. Good prices with breakfast included, waffles, cornflakes,oats, topping etc..
Have big cold cold room, nice and kind staff.

One of my least favourite hostels I’ve stayed in, would not recommend to solo females.

Rooms: Basic is the word. Grubby in places, tiny lockers. Very small room for amount of beds. Bed was comfortable but did not have a duvet even though every other bed did. Has A/C but at night which was fine.

Communal area: Kitchen clean and tidy. Day beds, seats and sun loungers broken, dirty and smelled of smoke. Random chairs in the middle of walkways, some parts felt like a crack den. Have to pay for luggage storage and shuttle, most hostels offer this for free.

Staff: Staff were polite but lacked energy, can’t really hold this against them though. Did provide free breakfast which was a plus.

Vibe: Very strange vibe from the moment we walked in, everyone was like a walking zombie. No social side and a lot of 40+ men, would not recommend to solo females. Walked into the room which was full, not a word from anyone. The community side of this hostel was a big part of the 2/5 stars, felt uncomfortable at times.

Location: Good, 15 min walk to front with shops etc with nice cafe at Enzo’s on the Beach. 1hr30 to marina. 40 min walk away from bus stop so uber/ shuttle required.

Was quite disappointed with this flashpackers - the rooms are rundown, cramped and not that clean (mine had no a/c and the curtains were falling off the wall). The ensuite room, was functional but the smell it emitted from using water was gross. Kitchen was OK, a little grubby and lots of flies but not unusable. It did often smell of cigarette smoke however from where management and guests were smoking just outside the kitchen window. Was suprised to have to pay for storage and shuttle bus as many other hostels offer this for free.

Having stayed in other flashpacker hostels so far, this is probably one of the worst

It is a good clean hostel. We had a full house so shared a room with 5 people. Everyone is a young backpacker so they stay up late singing and playing guitar. It was a good vibe. I normally stay in hotels but everything was full. If it is just me traveling I would stay here again. The price is great.

POORLY OPERATED and unsafe. People who were not guests could sleep on day beds throughout the night.
Serval alarming/unsafe interactions occurred during stay- not in hostel but across the road when walking about.
Demographic is much older, 40+ so if ur looking for a party this is NOT the place.
Amenities outdated. They still use old fashion keys for room access and give no way of allowing you to access kitchen after hours.
NOT CLEAN.
