Italian Night at The Factory Bar in Katoomba was great fun.
Big tasting plates of the freshest food. The arancini the absolute best I have tasted, anywhere: little golf ball-sized bites packed with deliciousness. Worth a return visit on their own. The venue is funky, unfussy and intimate. The local gin and wine was great and well-priced. All in all a fabulous night out with friends.

Wonderful birthday celebration at Fifth Ave Katoomba Retreat with a beautiful Italian meal made under the excellent guidance of Silvana & her helpers. A very memorable day, would absolutely recommend this venue. Thank you Silvana for your thoughtful menu catering for celiac & children’s likes.

We did the pasta and sauce making class and it was very informative and a special experience with a lovely 3 course lunch attached. Everyone was very generous and made us feel at home! Would recommend to anyone with a spare half day in the mountains!

We learnt how to preserve and forage for edible mushrooms in the pine forest under the expert guidance of Silvana, Maria and Antonella. The foraging was so fun and having their expertise closely on hand gave me the peace of mind to cook and eat them afterwards. They were delicious! Highly recommend this tour if you want to safely learn to forage for edible mushrooms. A great day out.

It was an amazing experience with Sylvana and her family foraging mushrooms in the blue mountains. It was very informative not to mention very very warm of them as they welcomed us with open arms.

I went to a wonderful ravioli cooking class a few weeks ago. It was most enjoyable sharing the time and excellent learning experience with others. Later we enjoyed lunch together. Silvana also has an impressive array of preserves including marinated olives, some delicious chilli oil and I am now reminded that I need to purchase some more of her fabulous olive paste. It's way better than any other commercial brands that I have tried. I can highly recommend Fifth Avenue Katoomba Retreat for a very enjoyable cooking class and luncheon.
