Falcon Lodge was much better than we anticipated for a low budget stay. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes walk from Victoria Cross station AND there are bus stops in front of the lodge. It's in a very nice neighbourhood as well and you can walk to Woolworth's at Crow's Nest in just 15 minutes. Vacationing in Sydney can be expensive, so we were able to save by being able to cook at the lodge as well. The bathrooms were small, but they were clean, and there were enough bathrooms on both floors. Would stay here again.

Love/hate this place. You get what you pay for comes to mind. The rooms are old and sweltering hot in summer with no aircon. The bathrooms are tiny, often flooded and there is no mop supplied. Saw our fair share of unflushed turds in this place.
The location is amazing. Close to the metro, you can walk to everything you can think of and beautiful parks and nature.
The staff are alright, the young Indian guy is really nice.
But honestly, spend the extra money, this place isn't particularly clean, it's old and run down and a great location. It was somewhere to stay in an emergency, nothing more, nothing less.

Though this is low-budget accommodation, it is fantastic.
My room was clean and tidy with fresh linen, a small fridge, kettle and plenty of room to store/hang clothes.
The few staff and residents I met were f
riendly, helpful, chatty and welcoming.
Logistically, it's fantastic, i.e., bus stops right outside, easy walk to shops and local supermarket. I would happily stay here again.

I stayed here for 2 weeks in January 2023 and I couldn’t love this place enough!
The people that I’ve met in the shared areas are awesome and everyone values privacy as well. It’s a bit of a challenge to share only 2 bathrooms for each floor and have to pay for the laundry and dryer separately. Overall everyone was lovely including the reception guys. Thank you!

Owner of this accommodation is friendly and responsive. I have arrived earlier than check in time, having disrupted room cleaning but she still warmly welcomed me. The room (pic 1) is neat and cozy, with all the amenities you need (like heater, cutlery, kettle, towel).

The location is also ideal, only 20 mins walk/8 mins bus to either st Leonard’s or north Sydney station.

But the shared space is a bit unpleasant. One of the closed stools were broken (pic2) where toilet water leaked onto the floor. Meanwhile there is not enough hot water for showers: 2 out of 7 winter nights I stayed ended up not having hot water to consume. There was a notice (pic3) telling residents to conserve hot water for others but people are clearly not following. The last minor problem is with the co-button of the lights and exhaust fan of the toilet (pic4), every time I shower I shivers as the exhaust fan was always on.

Will return on a summer day to see how it improves 🙂

I stayed at this place in 2023, I had the best experience (stayed more than 3 months) but later on the lodge was sold to some Chinese organisation and they increased rent/fees so much that everyone is complaining to live there lol
(100-200$ increase geez) but the rooms are good! But thin walls thats fuvked up hahaha
