I stayed for 2 nights on my own to attend an event at Suncorp Stadium and to visit family at Ipswich. The location for this was perfect as the train station is easy access. The room was comfortable and clean and had everything I needed plus more. My only criticism is probably the size of the parks, it's great that there is parking even at a cost but it is incredibly tight even in a small car.

It's a hospital room! 2 bedroom. I really had no idea that the room was just like staying in a hospital, the bathroom is exactly like a hospital one with shower and toilet on same flat tile surface, grab rails everywhere bench seat in the shower area just yuk! The shower pressere is weak (6floor) and the temperature was luke warm on hottest setting. My 10yo son wore his thongs in the shower because he was worried about getting foot fungus. There was no significant noise from the train station probably due to limited windows but I heard every time the elevator was used through the night so I had a horrible broken night sleep. The cost was not very friendly either at over $400 for this basic and sad room. One good thing is the bedroom is very dark due to no windows so I guess that's a bonus. The living room is quite spacious with a tiny TV on the wall but a large portion of the room unusable it just has one sofa bed, but i feel would be more comfortable with a few more lounges and side tables would be better especially seeing that room was supposed to sleep 6, there is a one two seater couch to share.

Great location next to Taringa train station, but rooms are completely quiet, well appointed and clean. Great food options are available nearby and a cafe restaurant downstairs. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately very disappointed.

Cityview apartment obviously had an amazing view of the city, no doubt about that.

However, the bed was hard, sagging on both sides as well. The pillows were flat and lifeless. The air-conditioner would not keep the room cool. Even throughout the night it was unable to maintain 19° and regularly I found myself getting out of bed to actually open the door into the corridor to let some cool air in.

As far as housekeeping goes, there was hair in the shower floor, black hand marks all over the wall around the television and I also found there was food Under the bedside table that had been missed by housekeeping.

For a room that costs nearly $300 per night I find this really really substandard.

Unfortunately I will not recommend and will not return

My parents and sister stayed here for a few weeks while visiting me in Brisbane. Worst experience ever! And, it wasn’t even me staying there.

My family’s clothes got thrown away by the cleaning team while they were out going about their day. They came back to their laundry bag missing and immediately headed to reception for help, who weren’t helpful at all. They promised to pay my parents back but my parents have been back home for more than a week now and have yet to receive anything.

We sent an email to Essence wanting a follow up/ update regarding the situation, and were told there’s nothing they could do but are happy to pay $100, which won’t cover for the loss AT ALL! They expect a receipt from us but nobody in the world keeps receipts of every single clothing item they own in their closet. I could guarantee none you members of the Essence staff do so, either.

We’ve since sent a follow up email complaint and have not heard back from them. This is NOT how you run a business. Do better. I’ve been seeing a lot of complaints about the cleaning team in other Google reviews as well so maybe stop being so stingy for a big business and use that money for better training! 🙂

Overall, do NOT recommend for anyone who wants a safe accomodation where their items don’t get lost. There are so many other and better places to stay in Brisbane!
Kind regards.

We had the worst experience during our stay at this hotel. This occurred recently in July 2024, when a bunch of my family and I’s clothing items got thrown out from room 508. I have already reported a complaint to the hotel staff for the loss of my items and all I have received in return are false promises, none of which have been kept.

I travel often, so I evidently have stayed in many different hotels, yet this is the first time I have encountered such an awful experience, that is losing so many of my clothes. I stayed at this hotel not just for 1-2 days, but 3 weeks. That is not a short timespan, so I have spent a lot of money for my stay at this hotel. The amount of compensation I have asked for is not a lot compared to the amount of money I have given to this hotel for my stay. It isn’t even the money at this point, it’s about the commitment, responsibility, and communication from the hotel staff. It is how they promised to take action about the case, yet up until today I have not received any money nor have they gotten back to me with a solution.

I will never forget the disappointing and horrible experience I had during my stay here.

It is true that at the beginning we were emailed with a statement that an investigation was underway, but after the investigation was completed and Essence stated that they would replace the lost items, there was no reality. We have sent emails twice on July 29 and August 17 for a resolution but both emails have not received a reply until today. The last email from Essence on July 26 stated that they (Salman) would transfer the replacement but until today there has been no action from Essence. We have to speak publicly like this because we have tried to contact via email since July 29 to make it more private but have never received a reply until now.

Stayed at Essence in Taringa now twice both trips for medical reasons needing to access the private hospital above. Very convenient as a patient. Reception staff have been very friendly and easy to speak with on the phone and in person.

Also needed to extend our stay last minute which they were able to do so.
First stay we had a queen size bed, so definitely recommend upgrading to the king as it was far more comfortable for us as a couple.

My only feedback is please consider more comfortable mattresses they are very firm. We bought our own pillows this time and like I said upgraded to king which was much more enjoyable.
Fantastic overall. Will definitely stay again if needed and recommend.

Our stay was lovely but short, just one night (Winter, around June, 2023). The person who really made it great was Shane! He helped us out with our luggage, room and making sure we were comfortable and taken care of. He was just an all around top bloke and we certainly hope he’s doing well. He was warm and funny, definitely made us feel welcome to the property.

I marked 4 stars for this property specifically for the rooms. They are a good size and very clean but they have a lingering smell. I would describe it as hospital smell + old people hospice smell. For myself personally that was just a bit hard to handle. My mom, who was with me, had no issues at all.

Also our Uber struggled a bit with the location and knowing where is the actual drop off for the property. It is a residential area so I think signage could be more obvious to help foreign guests out.

If the smell description makes sense - then I would avoid staying here. Otherwise, go ahead. Great value for money.
