Hosts: Pleasant and welcoming. Check in at the main gate.
Access: AWD ok for basic roads but definitely need 4wd for most of the park. Some camp grounds like Gerrards require creek crossing so be aware before booking. Unfortunately, some camp sites are quite out of the way and have no or limited facilities. "Twin dams" is a bit dilapidated and there's no public access to the water which wasn't great for swimming anyway. Only good as a base camp if you're keen to hit some tough tracks.
Weather: The park is pretty prompt at giving social media updates on weather and access. Keep in mind the water will be very dirty after recent rain.
Sightseeing: Not much to see or do besides 4wd or peewee tracks. The signage to the waterfalls could have been much clearer. Tabulam has a handy mini mart.
Overall: a great destination for 4wd enthusiasts and families with moto kids or older teens. Not ideal for young children. Many users not sticking to safe speeds through the camps through the day and night. Pet friendly.

Heaps of space!! We had about 150 metres of nice grass all to ourselves at The Oaks area. The 4WD tracks were water affected and very challenging but was very fun. Don’t even think about hitting the tracks at the moment if you don’t have a lift kit.

We went there and spent 5 nights. Single women in 2 wheel drive vehicles. We felt safe and well looked after. The amenities were fantastic and super clean. Bob and Maree went out of their way to say hello but also made sure we had our space. We had a flat battery at the end and Bob gave us a hand with jumper leads, no hesitation, even though it was pouring rain. We can’t recommend this place enough. Gorgeous surroundings, turtles swimming, and enough room for people from all walks of life. Hard core 4wd tracks for those who like it and peaceful bush for the ones who want to relax.

First time visitor in November, back over the wknd (feb 2023). I am a single young lady and camp with my 2 dogs. Can’t beat this place. Absolutely beautiful, so peaceful and so much to offer. Full amenities with running hot water, bbq areas, with 4w4 tracks, clean swimming holes and even cabin hire. We had wild horses visit, as well as massive iguanas. Me and my dogs love this place! The owner Frank is such a lovely man! I had the entire place to myself all wknd and everything was so clean and well maintained. Frank even notified me the day prior to be prepared for extra water along the access roads. Honestly can’t fault this place! Recommend highly!! So much to offer and so beautiful!!

We booked 2 wks in advance and provided all the information about our cars. Apparently the campsite and main facilities (e.g., showers) were only accessible by 4WD but there were no information indicating this in their website at the time of booking. We drove 3+ hours to get there and once we arrived we were told we can’t access the main campground with our cars. We were told they updated their website with this info 2 days ago! We were asked to drive to an unpleasant overcrowded camping area with minimum facilities. The road was very rough causing damage to our AWD subaru. Luckily the other car wasn’t damaged. We had no access to the showers, the view wasn’t impressive and there were no walking tracks or activities to do (except our camp fire).
We would have appreciated if they had notified (e.g., via texts message or email) us that our cars are not good enough for this campsite. We could then make an informed decision, plan and enjoy our Easter Holiday somewhere else if we knew this in advance.
