We recently had a great experience at the Emerald western gateway Motel. Our two nights were very comfortable and quiet. The room was well appointed and very clean. Phillipa contacted us before our arrival to make sure we knew Tyri procedure to access our room. On our departure we managed to leave some clothes behind. Phillipa couldn’t have been more helpful and arranged to get the clothes shipped back to us. We will certainly stay there again.

We stayed in the 2-storey 2 bedroom apartment. While it wasn’t awful, we were just a bit disappointed with the standard of the room. It had a fresh coat of paint and fairly new carpet which was nice.
-the dishwasher had a sign saying “not working”. It had old stinky water in it, and it seemed like it was in that state for some time. And we had an empty dishwashing liquid bottle and a dirty chux despite having to wash up everything by hand. We returned to reception straight away after realising and no apology or explanation was offered, and he just sent housekeeping with some dishwashing liquid, a few chux and some smelly tea towels. However they could have anticipated a broke dishwasher meaning we would be requiring these items already.

-we used the broom to sweep downstairs. Within a few minutes my husband and I got glass in our feet, evidently from the broom. We have two young children we had to quickly contain in the car while we finished getting ready for an activity we had booked for a certain time, so informed reception on the way out. Again, no apology given, this time it was a lady at reception. When we returned, a young housekeeper had just finished vacuuming the downstairs area. We let her know which broom had the glass and she was not even aware there was a glass issue. She kindly apologised, explained a housekeeper had smashed a glass recently so perhaps that’s what it was from and quickly replaced the broom for us. The housekeeping staff were lovely.
-some of the bottom of the walls are water damaged with mould.
-most linen (bedding and towels) was old, some with frayed edges, and a few stains.
-a fair bit of the crockery was dirty, unsurprising if all hand washed by previous guests with limited supplies.
-a decent amount of cigarette butts were in the outdoor courtyard, which took a long time to clean so my toddler wouldn’t play with them. The outdoor areas in general could use a wipe down.

While we didn’t bring up some of these things with management, and perhaps they would have tried to rectify some of them like they did the glass and dishwashing liquid, it was really hard to keep bringing things up after the first two issues (dishwashing and glass) when management were not easy to approach. We also did not realise the cigarette butts until the last day and it just felt easier to fix ourselves.
Even when returning my key and thanking for the accomodation, the man stared at his computer and held out his hand and said “okay”.
The location was good, close to shops and a very good tavern.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! I had booked the 2B/2B apartment to get ready the night/day before my wedding. We lost power the day of right in the middle of hair and makeup. Anthony and Philipa could not have been more helpful! They moved us to another room that had power due to a generator not starting and offered us extension leads and anything else we needed to be able to get everything done! Highly recommend this hotel to everyone! Moving all of the hair and makeup stuff across the road is a wedding story that will never be forgotten!

We weren't available to check out at 10am due to a sports commitment, so they through our stuff away. Some of the items were valuable to us. They should keep a box to put the belongings. Now we have to spend lots of money on replacing those items, as well as grieving the loss of items special to us.

Excellent food they were very busy but service was great I had the salmon Lovely presentation and just enough food as I'm a small eater and hate doggies bags but will take home will definitely be back

Nice clean & comfortable room, great shower, plenty of soap & consumables. The restaurant was closed but it was only a short walk to the Tavern for a nice dinner. Only downside was there wasn't any cold water in the fridge.

We had a rwo bedroom unit which was beautifully set up with all facilities. Had the best nights sleep so far on the trip. A nice warm comfortable bed. The restaurant was recommended by locals but too tired to try. Next time. Very safe motorcycle parking as well. Close to all amenities.
