We decided to stay at Ellesmere House as we were going to the Peninsula Hot Springs and it was very handy to it. It's also very close to Sorrento and the beach. The house is lovely, as the pictures suggest, with the B&B rooms on the ground floor and the owners upstairs. The Garden room was spacious and elegant with underfloor heating, and has an en suite (shower, no bath) and there is a small lounge/library also for guests use which is cosy also. Peter and Judy are very nice and friendly and any help needed is offered easily. We booked on Agoda, so breakfast was an extra $10 per person, with a rice custard and apple the hot option with cereal and toast included. We would love to stay again if we have an opportunity to return to the Mornington Peninsula, and have recommended it to friends.

We stayed at Ellesmere House for 2 nights and were impressed by the beauty of this house and gardens. The room was comfortable and clean. Peter was a friendly host. The bathroom was outside of the room, which was absolutely fine and there was a lovely sitting room where we could sit and watch a movie if we wanted to. Breakfast was a standard breakfast, waiting in the sitting room for us in the morning. We really enjoyed staying here although you are essentially staying on the ground floor of someones house. If this does not bother you then we would definitely recommend Ellesmere House.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Garden suite, and it was clean, quiet, and perfect. There is also a communal sitting room (though we were the only guests at the time), with a good selection of movies and books. Breakfast was left for us here each morning, so there was no pressure to wake up early. Breakfast was a basic but delicious selections of cereal and toast with homemade jam, and poached fruit. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend much time in the garden, but it is a beautiful and well kept garden, with a fish pond and sitting area. Peter was a great host, who was happy to offer suggestions for dining out and things to do on the peninsula.

We booked a single night at Ellesmere House as we were attending a friends wedding in Sorrento. Unfortunately we also had to leave fairly early the following morning due to other committments but wished we had more time to enjoy the house and gardens and the peninsula area. The hosts were terrific and even offered to drop us at the wedding to avoid a taxi trip. The house was lovely, clean and warm and appointed with all we needed for our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room was large with a large walk-in robe and en-suite. We used the sitting room in the afternoon we arrived and had our breakfast served there. It's a lovely room with views out to the garden and beyond. ||While I'm not usually an advocate of excluding children from experiencing places like this (they need broad life experiences), Ellesmere is not really suited to children and I'm beginning to enjoy the child-free experience after having several other experiences disturbed/spoilt by noisy and poorly behaved children and their parents.||I would happily recommend this B&B to others looking for a central place to stay on the peninsula while seemingly away from the busier towns.

The house has two bedrooms which are immaculately kept. The owners, Judy and Peter, made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The house is about 5 minutes drive from Sorrento and is set in fabulous gardens at the top of a hill which gives wonderful views. Breakfast is available at a small extra cost but Judy and Peter ensure that guests have plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits available for free. We had a delightful, but all too short a stay and we will certainly be back in future!

My husband and I drove down to Mornington Peninsula for a round of golf and last minute decided to stay down here for the night instead of driving back to the city. The golf course resort was fully booked so we were recommended Ellesmere House. We came to this drive way up to a little hill after a short drive and then it opens up this beautiful house with a lovely garden in front of us. The host couple was very nice and our room on the 1st floor was clean and tidy. Fresh and delicious breakfast served in a basket in the living room. The location is good. Walking distance to the busy main street with restaurants, cafes and shops. The only disappointment is that there's limit hot water for shower. We went out for dinner and they had other guests checked in and must have taken long showers in their room. By the time we came back from dinner there's no hot water left for shower in our room at all. But overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

We stayed for 3 nights, and were so happy with this beautiful place. The house is very hidden away, and quiet, the gardens are absolutely stunning and we were in the garden suite so we had an amazing view. The owners are lovely, they provided an adorable basket full of breakfast every morning, and were always happy to chat about things to do around town. I'll be recommending Ellesmere house to everyone and we will definitely be back soon enough 🙂

We like to find something special to delight our guests when they're touring with us and Ellesmere House fit that perfectly. From the secluded entry on a quiet street to the stunning gardens, beautiful house and welcoming glass of wine provided by Peter and Judy our choice was validated. ||||There are 2 guest rooms and both are very well appointed. The garden room has lovely views out the front window and an ensuite and the green room has a separate toilet and bathroom and side views of the garden.||||A great breakfast was served in a sitting room also with a view of the garden. There were home made poached pears, Red Hill muesli, a range of other cereals, fruit and grain bread to toast, fruit juice, plunger coffee and a range of teas. ||||Whilst sitting in the garden and in the house there was no traffic noise and it was easy to enjoy the sounds of native birds and the bubbling of the water feature in the fish pond.||||A hidden treasure an worthwhile staying.
