As a wedding photographer, I’m always on the lookout for fantastic wedding and elopement venues like the Elizabethan Lodge. My clients had their wedding here, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment the choir sang during the bridal walk to the ceremony’s end, when the couple was showered in confetti, everything was simply unforgettable.

The Elizabethan Lodge is an amazing venue if you’re looking for a serene location to host a small or intimate wedding. The chapel, with its arched windows, stained glass, and warm interior, required little to no additional decoration because it’s already stunning as it is. The gardens and trees outside also provided fantastic backdrops for the post-wedding session. I highly recommend this venue to couples!

An older style hotel but the rooms are renovated and clean. The ladies at reception are very accommodating and helpful.

Room 19 has a fantastic, large, very new-looking shower with a powerful hand-held shower head which has different flow settings. The appliances are clean & the fridge is small but fits a surprising amount inside. The toilet is sparkling clean.

The house-keeping staff are especially soooooo sweet and lovely!!

The highlight for me has been the bed. The linen is very fresh & clean, there's not one speck of dust in or on the beds. The entire room is clean but the beds are exceptionally clean, bright white and sanitary.

I've stayed in hotels all over the world including some very high-end hotels and although this is an older-style hotel, it's been refurbished to a very high standard. Is it the Burj Al Arab or even the Hyatt? No. But it's certainly very comfortable and homely especially for a long-stayer (3 weeks) like myself.

My only criticism is the TV - it's quite far from the beds and quite small, a little annoying that it can't be tilted BUT in saying that, I do have the eyesight of a 120yr old and it's just a standard size TV that you'd find in any other hotel. It's no huge issue.

Each room seems to be slightly different, like room 19 upstairs has a huge shower compared to room 4, but they're all extremely clean and that's the main thing.

Some road noise during the day but very quiet at night. Lovely garden area too

Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Basic and rather dated but free access to a laundry and easy access to a motorway. We stayed 7 nights so laundry was important.

We were married here July of 2024. First of all the staff at the Elizabethan are amazing. They definitely catered to all our needs. The chapel was so cute and the reception room was huge with a big dance floor. Our guests could t stop talking about the food. Not only was it amazingly tasty but the portions were massive. And being an island family we definitely appreciated it. We purchased 3 rooms and the complimentary suite for us and the rooms were decent. Our spa tub in the suite didn’t work but that didn’t take away from the spacious room and living area. The other 3 rooms were also great. A bit on the older side but definitely great value for money with all having working spa tubs. Beds were comfortable and everything worked as it should. Again, Maria and the staff were brilliant and made everything so easy for us during the wedding planning, booking of the rooms and all throughout the wedding and after. We also had family and friends book rooms for the event as well and they were also impressed. Such an amazing venue with everything all in one. The garden was also spectacular and photographed well and the bridal suite where I got ready was an awesome little room for my bridesmaids and I and enough room for make up artist and hair dresser. I couldn’t recommend Elizabethan lodge enough! Thank you team for a great stay and for all the wonderful work you all did behind the scenes to make our wedding and stay awesome!!

The venue, facilities and staff were absolutely brilliant. The program was well detailed and easily followed, the staff were there when we went rogue. I have not received one negative comment.

Wow. What a place! Many Melburnians may know about this place for being a wedding venue.

The gardens are stunning... just stunning. Aside from being used for weddings, its just a great place to chill out.

Room wise, they are fully refurbished. Super clean, and with new shower and toilet.

Bear in mind you are so close to the Eastern, its really pretty quiet.

Parking is easy, ground floor rooms are totally wheelchair accessible, and for those a bit unsteady, there is a shower seat.

We had our wedding here in May and it was absolutely perfect. The venue is gorgeous and the staff are incredible. The staff were so helpful right from the start, answering all questions promptly and were always very accommodating. On the day, the staff were so lovely and great fun. The bridal day room was the perfect place for all the girls to get ready the morning of. The garden is stunning and made for some amazing photos. The chapel is adorable and feels perfectly intimate but without being squishy. The food at the reception was fantastic, everyone commented on how good the food was. The in house photobooth was a huge hit, I definitely recommend it.
Elizabethan Lodge is a stunning venue with outstanding staff, and I cannot praise them highly enough for making our wedding day such a brilliant experience.

This is my second time here. My first time wasn't as nice, but after hearing they were updating and freshly renovating the rooms, I decided to come again, and I am glad I did!
The bedroom was fresh and clean. The shower and toilet were clean. Room service was daily, and the ladies were very kind. The garden is beautiful, and there were electric blankets for a toasty night. The air conditioning/heater worked, too. There was no view, but I certainly don’t mind. Free parking is always a major plus, so it was so easy to head onto the freeway to the city. You can't even hear the freeway or any cars. There is disabled parking and more parking around the back. They also allow you to check in after hours, which is great for long-distance travellers.

Some cons were:
- The internet connection was so unstable that it didn't work.

- The rooms aren't soundproof, and I heard a couple talking in the room next door.

- The renovations, although important, started at 8:30am and were quite loud. But it wasn't for too long, luckily.

Overall, everyone was so nice, and I even saw a wedding and a bride and it creates such a whimsical atmosphere, I would happily stay here again!
