A delicious Japanese brunch place in the middle of Sydney, the store was quiet with a few people inside when we arrived. The place filled up soon after.

The seating is a low dip on the side. The staff are friendly and food came out quickly. Recommended is the mascarpone strawberry milk and burger combo.

Scrambled egg was too cooked.
Pancake was ok, but if you have allergy to eggs, since the middle of the cake is not totally cooked, so better not to eat.

Long Wait is Worth!

Heard about this cafe and tried to experience its name. First we signed in the entrance, joined the queue and waited for almost 20 minutes on Easter Saturday afternoon. Sitting down and realised only 60 minutes of dining allowed. We quickly ordered the long black coffee and signature ice matcha latte. Also a long wait (15 minutes ) for the Matcha souffle pancakes. Overall, we were satisfied with the quality and service. An extra service charge was observed when we paid. It would be much better if they could advise the customer prior.

To start, the service me and my partner received today on a Tuesday before noon was horrible. Walked in around 11:05am and was able to get a seat easily. We ordered BOTH our drinks and food at the same time. Received our drinks within a few minutes which was great.

Now, usually we're quite patient and don't like to rush staff but we have seen a pair seated right next to us after we received our drinks have their orders get taken AND get served the food about 10-15 mins after. It felt a bit ridiculous at that point but we still kept waiting patiently. At 11:50am, I finally reached out to the waitress and asked about our orders which we've been waiting nearly a whole hour for. They blamed a problem with the machine despite having our order taken with our drinks which we received.

15 mins later at 12:05pm, we finally received our udon, ochazuke and banana bread. How can the staff not notice that a pair have been seated without any food coming to them for about 45 mins (60 mins in total) while some other tables are getting their orders in a timely manner?

It's such a shame because we were looking forward to the first time experience at Edition Roasters at their main shop with good reviews, but because of this - I do not want to visit this place again. It would have been nice if they offered any sort of compensation or discount because of this unacceptable wait time but nothing at all. I know they have a 60 min seating policy when things get busy too but imagine not even receiving your orders after 50 mins. It's hilarious that we could sit longer than that due to their mess-up.

Despite this lengthy negative review that we and maybe a small number of customers have experienced, it's nice that a majority of people still have a good opinion of this place. On the minor positive side, the food was fine but the service ruined it to hell.

Out of hundreds of places I've reviewed in my Google Guide Journey. This place has unfortunately earned my first two-star review.

Went on a Sunday lunch for a small bite sharing the Mentaiko Pasta with my partner. We really loved the pasta with just the right richness of flavour. Iced matcha was also so good and creamy; Only downside was we felt rushed. The staff immediately took our plate when we finished the food, and kept looking at us. Will visit again on a less busy day!

Best flat white in Sydney. Shokopan bread decent. Other food looked good but didn’t try. Love that it takes a Japanese brand to show aussies how to make a flat white 😈

I came on a Saturday night around 8:30 PM and surprisingly—no long line! Usually, I see people queueing here every time I pass by, but this time the vibe was just right: not too crowded, not too quiet.

I only ordered the Uji Matcha Latte because I’ve heard it’s one of their most iconic drinks—and it really lived up to the hype. Creamy, earthy, and naturally sweet without being overpowering. It was made and served super quickly too, which I appreciated.

It’s definitely a space you’d want to chill in for a bit—somewhere between a Japanese-inspired calm and a sleek city cafe moment. Will definitely come back to try their brunch options or maybe one of their classic coffees!
