I booked my 21st Birthday with Dunkirk and it was absolutely fantastic. The Terrace Bar was gorgeous, Matt was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the whole booking process including with catering and setting up the space. The staff were also super friendly.

It's not the first time I've been to Dunkirk and I definitely don't think it'll be the last

We booked a one night stay as our son celebrated his birthday at the Dunkirk during that evening. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent, location was perfect. The rooms were old but clean enough, the bed was very comfortable with fresh clean sheets. It is an old pub and the room could do with a paint refresh etc but it suited our needs. Yes the room was noisy from the road traffic, but we were very tired so it didn’t bother us too much. We were able to heat the room with available heater, didn’t get to use fans. Overall our staying experience was good. We felt safe here as well.
Our son’s party was in the terrace room which was attractive and a perfect venue.

After what seemed like a 30min wait, my steak was served warm and chips basically cold.. not sure if I'd come back again considering I work across the road. This was ordered at 5.40pm. The service was good but.

I celebrated my 35th birthday at the Dunkirk Hotel, and it was an incredible experience!

The space was perfect, and the service was outstanding. The food was delicious and served quickly.

Matt was extremely helpful and responsive. He also arranged for a bartender who was both efficient and friendly. The entire staff was superb, ensuring the event ran smoothly. Highly recommend!

We booked the Loft for my husbands 40th, but was moved to the terrace bar (bigger space, which was great as it was a warm night). Every step of the booking process was simple and fully explained. We ordered close to a dozen platters of food and it was all delicious and served piping hot/fresh. From Matt the general manager all the way down, the whole team were so helpful and pleasant. Really made the night come together!

We looked for an affordable place close to the city center to start our road trip in Australia. The location is ideal. It is within walking distance of Darling harbor, Circular quay and George street. We had a family room, which had a small kitchen and bathroom. The room itself was spacious and worked well for us. Just remember it is an old building. the glass in the windows is only single pane, so i doesn't filter any noise whatsoever. The hotel is on the main road that feeds the Sydney Harbor bridge so there is traffic all night with many trucks. It is fine for a couple of days. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but there is a nice place across the intersection that serves a great breakfast (Social Brew Cafe). The hotel does serve dinner and on specific night has live music as well

Our short stay here at the Dunkirk Hotel was great. The room was tidy, clean and comfortable. The bathroom, though separate from the room, was clean and easy to access and use. I enjoyed the staff and the vibe downstairs, and liked being close to the harbour and trams. The only thing that was not a 5/5 stars experience was the traffic noise. Even with the windows closed, it sounded like they were open. But this isn’t something the hotel can necessarily control. Just be mindful of the noise that cars will make, especially the beeping and sirens. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend for a short stay!
